My daugher has a similar thermometer and I just had to get this one for myself. I really like the magnetic rear contacts. It holds strongly on the front & stop of my stove, grill & smoker. There is also a little stand leg that folds out of the body to use standing up without the magnetic contacts. I don't think I'll ever use it like that, but it's a nice to have capability. I also really like that the on/off & F/C switches on back are large, clearly marked and easy to use. I like that when you turn it on, it stays on and doesn't quickly 'time-out' or turn off. The power switch also operates the backlight, which can be seperately turned on and off as desired. The backlight is going to use more batter power and most of the time you probably don't need the extra backlight anyway, the LCD segments are pretty large and easy to read. The light will be helpful for me, using the smoker, in the dark with longer smoke times. The wires for the temp probes have a metal sheath on the outside so the wires don't get melted up with the super hot oven or grill door edge. It doesn't have to be used with meat, I have already used it for cooking a cheesecake and (hot milk for) starting yogurt. I also like that it doesn't require a (standard) replaceable battery, instead, it has a integrated rechargeable battery and there is a battery charge status on the display so it's easy to see when it's getting lower and needs to be charged. I don't know how long it lasts on a charge yet, I've only used it, turning it on for a couple minutes at a time. What I don't like is the 'odd', magnetic, contact charging. It comes with a USB cable to charge, but the unique contact charging system now requires me to keep track of and use this charge cable for just this device. Total UUGH!!, who thinks of this stupid ideas. Using a standard cable (and there's several standard cables most people have around the house...) would be so much better... It also would have been nice to include a little zipper case to hold all the parts, especially now that it requires a special cable. But, that little fault aside, it's a very nice unit and I've glad I got it.

Most of the time, you need one meat thermometer at a time but then, you need two at once. This iProbe Dual thermometer solves that problem, when cooking two different meats on the outside smoker grill at the same time, and beep when the correct meat temp is reached so I can pull one thing and leave the other to go longer. From the name, I assumed it would somehow link with my iPhone, but no, it's just a name. Probe cables are about three feet long and the magnets on the thermometer keep it in place near the grill.

There is a lot to like about this thermometer. I like that it has two probes instead of just one. I don't always need that, but it's very convenient for when I do. I like that the probes are long and very slender, so that they pierce raw meat very easily. The cables for the probes have metal sheaths, which enables them to withstand higher temperatures. I lay them across aluminum foil when I'm open-flame grilling, because actual fire would probably damage the leads, but the indirect temperatures inside my grill don't seem to. I like the small size of the control housing, and yet the display is nice and large and I can read it easily without putting my glasses on (which are on and off my face constantly, so you would think I would stop caring about that - but I do). I like the separate alarm points on the two probes, so I can pull one steak off at a medium-rare temperature and another off at a medium-well temperature. I like that this thermometer is cordless so I don't need an external power source. I also like that it's USB-C rechargeable. Like most digital thermometers, it seems to come up to a higher temp faster than it cools off to a lower temp, but that's howI use it, so no worries. Like I said at the start, I've found a lot to like about this. Highly recommended.
