Terrific affordable thermostat. Works perfectly. Set up was easy and straight forward. It runs you through a list of questions/options and you follow along with the included instructions, but only need to do this on initial setup. Very easy to program and adjust to your needs afterwards. I programmed mine like this: Mon-Fri: Have temperature at 78 from 7am to 5pm, and 72 from 5pm-7am Sat-Sun: Set all day to 72. One neat feature I didn't know it had when I bought it was it can learn your house's cooling/heating rates in order to have the set temperature at your desired time point. So I set mine at 72 for 5pm when I get back home, but the AC might kick on at lets say 3:45 in order for the temperature to be 72 at 5pm. I thought that was a nice feature instead of just "setting" the temperature at a fixed point in time. Overall this seems like a great unit, easy to use, smart enough without being a SMART device. I don't need unnecessary complications, just an automatic on/off when I want it. haha ... show more

    • Dead simple installation and programming.
I'm very pleased with this thermostat. Mounting and installing the thermostat was simple; the instructions are very clear, and there is a provided wiring diagram for the different types of heating and cooling systems that the thermostat is designed to operate. You will likely need a drill, a 3/16" drill bit, and a screwdriver to mount the stat, and perhaps a tack hammer or small mallet to set the wall anchors. It took around five minutes to mount the unit, and just a few minutes more to wire it up. Speaking of the wiring, there is no screw tightening necessary; the wires are held in place mechanically with toggles, and the circuit closed by pins on the thermostat body. It takes all the guesswork out as to whether the connections are secure or not. Programming was also simple....it walks you right through it, takes about three minutes or so to complete. So far the thermostat has worked perfectly and I have no complaints...hooking it up was about as pleasant an experience as I could hope for. ... show more

    • Simple Thermostat That Does What I Need
I wanted a programmable thermostat that would let me set a schedule without turning the thermostat itself into another piece of technology I have to manage. This fits that nicely. It’s straightforward, the display is easy to read, and once the schedule is set, there really isn’t much reason to mess with it. Programming it takes a little bit of attention the first time, but it isn’t difficult. I like being able to have the temperature automatically adjust based on the time of day instead of remembering to change it before bed or when everyone is out of the house. The design is basic, but honestly, that’s what I want from a thermostat. It blends into the wall, the controls make sense, and I don’t need an app or an account just to change the temperature. Just make sure your HVAC system is compatible since this is designed for single-stage systems. If it works with your setup and you want a basic programmable thermostat rather than a full smart-home system, this is a solid choice. ... show more

    • DIY: Read the Directions!!
Way cheaper than my original thermostat and worked fine for my heated floors. I was so nervous doing this on my own, but it seems to have worked! As long as you read the directions, this should be a fairly DIY project that you can complete in 20 minutes. Make sure you ready the instructions because this will not work either electric baseboard heat. Also, there were also some confusing instructions about heating pumps. I also like the appearance because the thermostat looks a lot newer than my original $150 thermostat. However, I wish the clock appeared larger on the screen. ... show more

Great simple thermostat. One star that it defaults to program mode instead of having a clear program on or off. I woke up burning up. just a little more $ to get one that does. However once set to a single temp. it’s fine.
