Chair works great. Doesn't have a basket in the bottom, which would be helpful but it does have little drawers under the seat. Problem with the left one is that my husband is missing his left arm so he cannot use that one so the basket would be better. But we knew that before we purchased. Not difficult to put together but you have to go step by step and follow directions. Price here is much cheaper than in the medical supply stores. This was pricey, that is for sure, but, kudos on the design. It is very well built and definitely of high quality. Pretty easy to assemble though the manual is useless, picture manuals are the worst, but that's ok, didn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. Very stable and my grandfather definitely prefers this to a three or four wheel scooter. Easier to get around in tight places. Also, turns on a dime, can completely rotate with little effort or space needed so very good for tight places. It is heavy so if you want to load it into a mid-size SUV (won't fit in anything smaller without disassembling it completely) you will need to be able to lift 60 pounds or have assistance. Only recommendation I would have is on the foot rest. Needs to be lifted to get into the chair and it can be a little difficult for elderly people to reach down and lower it. My grandfather just leaves it down but makes it a little tougher to step into the chair as he has to widen his stance around the foot rest to sit down. Otherwise, highly recommend this product, it is very well built and reasonably priced. ... show more

    • Great portability but the anti-tip wheels are poorly designed

I use a Permobil power chair full time and bought this chair for airplane travel since it can be taken apart (by my travel companion) and placed in the trunk or back of a rental car rather than need a ramp van at my destination to accommodate my power chair. The anti-tip wheels on this chair touch the ground at a minimum incline and make it difficult to use a ramp of any kind. I have a Braunability van that the chair will not go into without a "running" start and an aluminum ramp at my patio door that the chair will not climb without a "running" start... both precarious experiences. If I approach the ramps slowly the anti-tip wheels come in contact the ground and prevent the motorized wheels from having enough traction for the chair to move. ... show more

I like the fact that it is heavy, but it has a low center of gravity, so it won't tip over, even with my big Mom on it. I like the fact that it easily disassembles into four manageable parts, all parts have a handle and can be put in the trunk of an economy car except for the seat. The seat is very comfortable and my Mom prefers it to her automatic recliner when watching Steve Harvey on the television. My Mom's feet and legs are very weak. She needs to square herself to the chair so she can support herself while exiting or entering the chair. The foot rest must be folded up so she can do that process. If the foot rest would retract or fold up automatically, that would be the bomb! She can not bend over and lift the foot rest. She uses and needs the foot rest while traveling or adjusting herself in the chair. I give the chair five out five stars to the chair for function, comfort, design, affordability, and appearance. I was hesitant to purchase an "off the rack" power chair but desperately needed something I could transport by air and still be able to access ground/family transport at my destination. My concern was battery life...WELL, this chair is definitely worth the $$. It is light enough that the cargo people at your favorite airline doesn't curse you while they are loading and unloading this chair...when assembled it weights only 130lbs (compared to 350 lbs for my everyday custom chair)...it easily disassembles so family/ground travel at your travel destination can fit it into their SUV, mid size car or truck without any special lift or ramp. The battery life is very good...it will keep its charge all day while shopping or flitting about (although I haven't ever taken it over rough terrain (rocks, gravel, unpaved paths etc.) or in areas with multiple inclines AND as an added safety when out and about I carry the charger in a backpack which easily fits on the back of the seat (but I've never had to use it). My only complaint is the outlet/plug that attaches the battery to the base...the plastic frame holding it in place is flimsy and is easily broken when the battery is taken off & on for transport...it has already broken once on me but luckily some needle nose pliers and crazy glue fixed it. Overall I am very pleased and have recommended this chair to others, when asked ... show more

This is the worst mobility chair I ever had! The batteries have completely died after only nine months! The right front tire has chunks missing out of it. Part of the frame over the same tire has broken off. Both armrests have cracked open and some of the foam has broke off. When you start to go forward most times it jerks violently to the left or right causing you to hit your knees on a wall or door frame. And lastly the front caster wheels dig gouges in vinyl or carpet flooring! ... show more
