Worked great first two days.. Then gears started to grind into the gear holes. Cutting them in half. Then wouldn't close kept trying to open or close then got to point had to shut it by hand and now that is where I am at.. Shutting it by hand because it neither opens or closes and sontrolller just blinks off and on... Had 2 months.. So unhappy with it.. Sent many many messages.. Get another shipped to me.. Then wham.. Same thing with in a month.. It doesnt open or close when it is supposed to and the light in timer blinks on and off

I don’t know about weather proof but I do live in a high humidity area (South Carolina). Had it since February and it’s worked every day rain or shine under the protected run. The directions on how to program are difficult (for me at least but hubby understands it) it’s saved my chicken multiple times from raccoons. I ordered a different one after this for another coop and it’s not timer based. Works off of light. It’s horrible. You def need to be able to push a button to open or close for the stragglers and this one has one. Getting ready to order a third (because chickens are like potato chips-you can never have just one)

I like that the door opens at sunrise and sunset according to your latitude and longitude. I did have to put a 1 hour correction factor in because my chickens like to go in about a 1/2 hour after sunset. I have had other chicken coop doors openers that use a light sensor to determine sunrise and sunset. I had problems with these sensors working properly. My last one I bought with a light sensor only lasted 6 months. Unfortunately this one only lasted 3 months.

Had door in place for about three months. Came home one night to find one of my chickens pinned in the door. The sensor that’s supposed to detect chickens in the door failed. I had to force the door open to get the bird out. DONT RECOMMEND THIS

Door lifting mechanism has failed, so motor just grinds endlessly. And from the start, the safety sensor never worked ( we decided to live with that defect because it was already installed and would've been a pain to uninstall and cover the hole in the chicken coop back up.) I would not recommend this.

Worked fine until dust started accumulating on the bottom of the door rack. Then the door hole that makes the motor run did not align anymore and one night the motor kept working the entire night and ground the teeth on the door so much that the door now doesn’t work unless you press onto the motor area. This makes for an expensive experiment! If you get one, grind the hole upwards on the top left of the frame so you have plenty of space for dust ro accumulate at the bottom of the frame.

I was 90% satisfied with my automatic door after we got it installed the last week of December 2022. About 10 days ago it stopped mid-close. Thankfully no chickens were harmed. Less than 2 months after installing it’s broken. My husband looked at it thinking we could uninstall and reinstall but the motor failed. Definitely not a good experience and I don’t see a solution from the Seller to replace or refund.

The chicken door works great, the programming took a little bit but was sent the instructions and we got it done. The door opens at sunrise and we programmed it to close 30 minutes after sunset. Very happy with the way it works including the sensor so if a chicken is in the doorway the door stopped till the chicken get through the door.
