Our business in part, is building custom crates for artwork, glass and marble tops, pianos, motorcycles, pool table slates, and more. We are mostly a mobile operation and we use an enclosed trailer that is set up with work benches to cut the wood we use. We have a vacuum system set up to collect the massive amounts of sawdust that is created with the miter saw. We were continually turning the vacuum on and off for each cut or just leaving the vacuum on for longer periods. The noise and inconvenience was difficult during a long work day. This switch changed all that. With the pull of the miter saw trigger, the vacuum turns on, sucks up the dust, and turns off a few seconds after releasing the trigger. There are multiple settings to adjust the start and stop times. We use a generator to power the tools and the switch retains the settings when there is no power connected. We have used this switch heavily in a harsh environment for approximately five months and we have not had a single issue to date. The switch takes a beating as it sets on the work bench and vibrates as the trailer bounces down the road. I would highly recommend this switch and I will buy another if mine ever stops working. ... show more

I've used it with a bunch of different tools and 3 or 4 different shop-vacs with no problems at all with it kicking on and off when it should. my only complaint is i would like a single button vac override button to use the shopvac without the tool on. I know you can hit the mode button a couple times to do this, but it would be nice as an extra button. Obviously not a deal breaker. ... show more

    • Just works. Affordable.
Just got it minutes ago. Very affordable, especially compared to other similar devices that cost more and have fewer features. I can't tell you anything about durability or reliability since my total use time has been under 10 minutes so far. Has a lot of settings, but you can ignore all that if you want. Default from the factory settings are to delay the start of the accessory (vacuum or dust collection system) for 1 second (fully configurable) after turning on your tool. This is great for reducing inrush/startup current. It also delays 7 seconds (fully configurable) after turning the tool off before turning off the accessory, which is fine. The built in metering for volts, amps, watts, KW/h, and power factor is just a bonus. It comes with a tough flexible plastic sheet with two mounting studs for the unit, but no word on how to hang the sheet on a wall. I could run screws through it, I guess, or coat it with CA glue maybe. The 00:00 display in normal operating mode is presumably to track usage hours per project or whatever-- easy to reset to 0. If it holds up long-term, I will have to consider this a great buy and excellent value. ... show more

as a paint contractor this has worked as it should. Set up when it should turn on and really never need to do anything with it again. Just plug in the vacuum and tool and your good to go.

I love these switches. They eliminate a lot of trips the shut the vacuum off when I work in the shop so it's not as noisy as it used to be.

This switch is the one. You can easily change the delay on and delay off options. So many switches make you wait a painful 7-15 seconds after your tool is off before the shop vac shuts off. It takes less than a second for dust to shoot through a 7' shop vac hose. Why so long? No need to wait. This switch has brought peace and ease to my wood shop. I have set it .5 seconds (ON) and 1 second (OFF). I highly recommend. ... show more

    • Adjustable startup and turnoff intervals.
I have tried other automatic vacuum switches but none could be adjusted to suit my needs. Most would start too late and stay on too long. That meant when attached to my miter saw I would naturally begin my cut before the vacuum started and remain on too long after the cut was finished. This unit provides much better control over start/stop times. This way I can set it to startup 1/2 second after saw startup and stop a second after the cut is complete.
