Top Amazon Reviews

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

Overall, reviewers praise the 21.5 inch iMac for its sleek design, capable performance, and new, unopened condition. The computer is appreciated for its productivity and suitability for work environments, particularly for music, editing, and blogging. There may be mild disappointment over the product not being the latest model, since it is a 2017 version, but it still offers significant improvements over older MacBook Pros. However, it is not ideal for gaming or any task requiring heavy processing power.

Pros

  • 👍 Often brand new and unopened.
  • 🎵 Highly suitable for music, editing and blogging tasks.
  • ✅ Provides a smooth and efficient work experience.
  • 💨 Faster and more upgraded than older MacBook Pros or iMacs.

Cons

  • 🕹️ Not suitable for gaming or tasks requiring extensive processing power.
  • 🚫 Confusion about the model year, as it is a 2017 model being sold in later years.
  • 📅 Shorter software update lifespan due to it being an older model.
  • 🆕 Some users wished for it to have more updated features, like a higher-resolution webcam or 4k/5k screen.

Should I Buy It?

If robust performance for music, blogging, or editing tasks is what you're looking for, the 21.5 inch iMac could work well for you. However, please note that it's not suitable for heavy gaming or demanding processing tasks, and it's not the latest model, so software updates might be limited in the future. If you can overlook these limitations, it could be an efficient and powerful addition to your workspace.

  • Its a 2017 21.5 inch iMac with Big Sur Pre-installed and 256 GB SSD
I've always wanted an iMac since 2010 and I finally pulled the trigger and received one in impeccable condition because it is brand spanking new! I had my doubts but I'm glad I took a risk. I do wish it was 4k or something more modern but I didn't want to get something used and I got to experience unwrapping it and seeing it in all its glory for myself. I can say I am extremely happy with this product. I noticed a significant improvement over my MacBook pro from 2012 which obviously but more in regards to the DAW protools which I use religiously and I noticed I was able to record in 32 samples vs the higher 512 samples and with more bit depth there's zero noise and everything looks sleek and modern as well as thin. I will upgrade this soon to the better 5k model and give this one to a family member but Its perfect nothing wrong with it the speed is great and this is not a gaming computer to me this represents a work computer for music, editing, blogging and more if you are looking for power and storage and a monster powerhouse then look elsewhere but if you are looking for something that will make you want to get up in the morning and do some inspirational work then this is the computer for you. ... show more

  • Not a 2020 Model
The computer itself is fine. I have no complaints with it at all, other than the keyboard not having a numeric pad attached to it. However, it is not the 2020 model, as the advertising on Amazon would have you to believe. When I clicked on the Apple logo, and then clicked on "About this Mac", I was surprised to see "iMac (21.5 inch, 2017)" when I assumed it was 2020. I called Apple, gave them the serial number to the computer, and they confirmed it was 2017. However, they also stated that there is IS NO 2020 model for this particular Mac. They also confirmed that the price that Amazon is charging is the same price Apple is charging, so at least I wasn't getting ripped off. Just be warned ahead of time that this is the 2017 model. ... show more

  • First Apple computer
My first Apple computer. Works great, no problems with the equipment or the shipping! UPS tried to deliver a day early when I was not at home to sign for it, but it was delivered the next day in perfect condition😀. Still getting familiar with how Apple works compared to Windows, but so far I have been able to figure out how to get what I want. I only wished I had bought the iMac the last time I bought a computer, it would have saved me a lot of grief! So yes, if you are looking to buy a new desktop computer, I recommend you go with the iMac, it is worth paying extra for it. ... show more

  • This computer's production date was in 2017 -- Amazon failed to disclose this in ad.
This computer's production date was in 2017 -- I thought it was, like many 21 inch iMacs, made in 2022. The Amazon add failed to disclose this. The problem with this is that Apple only provides software updates for maybe 5-7 years, so it's already a 5-year-old machine bought new. I liked all the additional plug-in sites on the back of the computer. It's pretty fast. I don't need a lot of graphic memory capacity because I use it mostly to write with, so memory is quite secondary. ... show more

  • Decent even if a bit outdated and overpriced.
Got two of these for my kids who started remote learning at home this month as their school furnished iPad's and laptops were degrading the experience and making it even harder for my kids to stay focused, engaged, etc. This definitely helps, and even though it's a base model and not particularly well suited to do things like play the latest and greatest games, edit photos with Photoshop, edit videos with Final Cut Pro X, or basically do anything requiring more processing power than this dual core Core i5, it is sufficient for Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and web based education services like Schoology and Seesaw. The 1080p screen is nice and with a high enough resolution for a 21.5" screen and the overall design is nice, although a bit long in the tooth. Speaker volume is good. Only gripe is that the 21.5" version didn't get a real upgrade like the 27" version this year, and so we're still stuck with a 720p webcam, UHS-I SD card reader, etc. Definitely a bit outdated but a much better remote learning experience with it so no regrets. ... show more
