4/5 Strs since when first unrolled, there were a lot of kinks. As I set it up in the house and straightened out, it seems to be the jacket only. Will check gaming and see if any change coming from a damaged Cat6. I connected 3 foot one replacing the cable companies 5e cable running from the stock modem to the stock router. We use Roku and have some connection issues using wifi. So far it seems to switch channels quicker and no stalling as we are watching tv. Only time will tell. (Update 5/5 stars) I connected the 100ft cable to a TP Link 5 port gigabyte ethernet network switch. The remainder 4 slots, I ran some cat 8 to a laptop, a desktop and a PS4 and leaving a slot open. You can tell the internet speeds have increased. Work websites “military” open up faster. If you have ever used these sites, you open them up and walk away and make coffee, maybe walk the dog and you are ready to log in. Usually when you attempt to get into your email, it will force you to refresh the pages to move on, not anymore.     • Good Looking Cat 8 Cable But Certification Is Questionable

I ordered 4 cables ... one 35 ft and three 3 ft. Reason I ordered them was to update a 24 port switch which is about 30 ft from the main router and the shorter cables to be used in a patch panel and the main reason was because on the web page, the seller says they are tested and certified with a Fluke Analyzer. Overall the quality seems good, but going back to the certification that the seller says is actually non existent. Comparing these Cat 8 to my other cables that I'm using (Linkup Cat 7 Certified cables) ... my Cat 7 cables all came with a certified data sheet and the cables are individually numbered and even the outer jacket is printed with "Cat 7 Certified. These Cat 8 cables (SMOLINK) do not include that certification data sheet, nor are the cables individually numbered like the Linkup cables. So, why do they state that these Cat 8 cables are certified in their own words? Here is a copy and paste from the web page: "🔌Fluke Tested & Certified Quality: All the Cat8 cables pass fluke professional Cable Analyzers tested. Shielded with high quality UV-resistant PVC jacket, the outdoor rated Cat8 Ethernet cable is anti-aging. Anyway, I gave it one star from amazon's question of its WiFi signal (it has none, it is designed to physically connect one component to another, often a router). It is strong, durable, not too flexible, but for 3 bucks, I can replace it in 3 years if it gets mangled. As far as the speed, an ethernet cable will not give it to you. That is on your provider. Comcast, ATT, etc., are the only ones whom can really dictate your bandwidth (unless you make your own connection and do the wires wrong). It should be 13 bucks or so, but what do I know? They charge nearly 40 for these in store. Crazy ... show more

This is an excellent cable that increased thru out of signal like crazy!! They delay we use to see in page refresh alone was ok with out CAT 6, but now is the fastest we have seen!! My only concern is stiffness in cabling which due to being coiled, keeps a little loop, not a big thing but one needs to be aware of it if laying across a floor so be are one does not trip. The cable itself and ends are well made, why we couldn’t make something here in USA is beyond me as this one does indicate made in China. As I use this for business and home use I can’t comment on games but otherwise an excellent cable, highly recommend! ... show more

This 100' (30M) roll of cat 8 is for an 80 foot (24M) in attic run. The cable is good quality. The connectors are gold plated. It met every part of the advertising, I have a hard time giving it 5 stars. It's not exceptional (Belden quality) cable but good enough. It is marked 2000MHz, 25/40GBase-T Cat 8. Doesn't have ANSI/TIA-1152-A or ISO/IEC marking. Rubbery exterior, pretty flexible, good connectors. Pinch test fairly firm, not the thickest. Outdoor/Waterproof you may want to wrap it in conduit to protect it. ... show more

Bought 3 of these for different uses. One to connect a personal stage mixer to a stage box. The second for a router to iPad and the third for modem to router. I can’t comment on the first two other than it works and we’ve had no issues. The third one (modem to router) it improved the speeds, I had a cat 5e before and speeds would drop after one or two days of restarting both modem and router but with this cable it’s been over a months and no drops and I haven’t had to restart the modem and router once. Not sure on the technical aspect but this for some reason helps maintain the speeds I’m paying for from my provider. ... show more

Admittedly CAT 8 is a bit of an overkill for me, but I bought these to see if they would improve my already very fast internal network. I have a Gigabit router feeding a UniFi Gigabit switch and I wanted to maximize my internal network as much as possible. Based on my unsophisticated testing (5 runs of speed test on each of my 4 PC's/Laptops) I did get a bit of a boost. I experienced an increase of 0.5% to 4% across the 4 devices.
