  • CONFIGURATION - The 100 ft cat6 ethernet cable features 8 solid copper conductors 24 AWG. Each of the 4 unshielded twisted pairs (UTP) are separated by a PE cross insulation to isolates pairs and prevent crosstalk and covered by a 5.8mm PVC jacket with RJ45 connectors and gold-plated contacts. The molded strain relief boots help avoid snags that will damage your cables. They are molded for flexibility and resist common wear and tear.

I have cox highspeed internet and I am subscribed to 150 mb/sec. speed My desktop has wifi and when I tested on speedtest.net, I am only getting 40 to 50 mb/sec. I called my isp and he told me to hardwire with an ethernet cable. I happened to have a cat 5 laying around so I hardwired it and got 80-120 mb/sec. I still wasn't satisfied because I am paying 150 mb/sec. So I ordered this cat 6 ethernet cable and lo and behold I am getting between 140-170 mb/sec. At first, I thought cable is a cable but cat 5 to cat 6 made a big difference. I can't speak for others but yeah this cat 6 cable made a big difference on my speed test so I gave 5 stars. If you understand what a Cat6 is then most of the reviews here are pretty useless. To add a little substance, I'm going to comment on durability and material quality. I move this cable around constantly, snapping it in and our of various RJ-45 ports. It gets twisted, pulled, wrapped, finagled, and otherwise handled on a regular basis. It never gets tangled, the connection is always snug and no tabs have broken off, and the wire feels sturdy. What more can you ask for? ... show more

50 ft CAT 6 in black. (with connectors) Had to do some pulling on this cable in order to snake it through floor and wall openings. This cable is not composed of stranded wires. It is not suitable for an environment that would require frequent flexing. The listing is very much for a "stranded" cable. The jacket on the cable says "Strand." I guess you could call a solid wire 1 strand. Shady wording. Also, it is not solid copper wire. It only has a copper plating. ... show more

I purchased this Cat6 Ethernet cable based on the recommendations. I got it today, plugged it in to my modem and router, and ran a speed test. As you can see, my download speeds increased from 60 mbps to 139 mpbs. This cable does what it says it will do. I am a very satisfied customer!

I highly recommend this to anyone who plays on console. I play on Xbox and the difference in download speed and gameplay is phenomenal. It took about an hour to download Modern Warfare (huge game like 90+GB?) and maybe 10 mins for a 15GB update. Much better than using wireless. It works!!! Just got 1gb/1gb service upgraded from 150mb/150mb and my Cat5e would not handle it at 12ft. from router. Max was 95mb/95mb. Swapped the 100ft. Cable and finally got the speed through! A wifi dongle is great, but if you want the LAN connection and aren't set up next to your modem or router, you have to improvise. I had to relocate a family members home workstation and it was on the opposite side of the room from where the router and modem sat. Enter this cat6. Yes it is longer than required, but after running this along the bottom trim of the room and concealed it in that manner without making the trim look bad, not only did we hide the cable, we also gave the desktop a LAN connection in the process. We also left the balance of the cable rolled and tied up hidden under the workstation in case we need to move it more. ... show more
