Ok, here we go! I researched everything! After days....I decided. The new nighthawk mesh 2 Sattelite system! Wrong wrong if you plan to game. Wifi 6 and the Sattelites are amazing!!!!! But gaming needs a constant stream. I thought that I was clever and would plug my xbox series x in to a satellite "hardwired." You know, have the main router hardwired to the Modem and my kids 2 Xbox series s's and my series x on a satellite but hard wired in to it while have researched wifi 6 and understand how it functions. Did not work. The series x would still have a wifi 6 function that jumps from channel to channel. Making things like party chat malfunction. I did what I already knew was the right thing to do. I read reviews on this product for 2 days. It is the real deal! I have roughly a 2500 sq ft tri-level home and all living spaces are on one side. That is useful info btw. Living space covers closer to 1800 sq ft Tri-level. This new awesome router is located in the corners of the bottom "basement" level. I have 2 netgear wifi 6 mesh extenders and have programmed 1. Takes some googling. But that extender is hardwired to the xbox series x now and works amazingly with no drops. The download speed is 100 my per sec where as with the satellite produced a 300 my download speed. But there are no drops and gaming is fast, even while downloading now. With this nighthawk router and extenders. The second extender connected on its own. Moral of the story is... if you are gaming between 3 xboxs, streaming between 5 devices or let's face it. We have 5 smart tvs 3 tablets 4 phones smart over microwave, nest thermostat, ring doorbell and flood lights/cameras and browsing or even using these devices at the same time? This Nighthawk with extenders crushes. Side note: the 500$ nighthawk satellite combo wifi 6 mesh system is amazing! Just does not work for gaming. Hope my review helps. ... show more

My Netgear X6S 4000 router, which I bought in the spring of this year (2020), suddenly started dropping network signal and having to be rebooted many times. It finally died and would not gain internet access no matter what I tried. I am no expert at all at networking, but this was totally unacceptable. I wrote a bad review of this particular router and swore off Netgear altogether. But I researched for a long time and it seems that all the routers are randomly having this problem; so when I saw this one (Nighthawk 12 Stream RAX200 Triband 6 Router etc. etc. ) I fell for the hype and thought what did I have to lose except to gain another expensive brick shaped like a spaceship? It was advertised at that time for $499.00. I didn't have that kind of money to spend on a router unless I used my hard earned Prime rewards and so I went for it. Interestingly, after I got mine for a bit less than half price (which I probably would have paid for a new router anyway because I wanted tri-band and the fan impressed me :O), I saw that sellers were asking $700+ . No router is worth that in my opinion, which I realize as a 74 year old wanna- be granny geek does not count. Also, when I ordered mine, I was supposed to have to wait until mid-November. But I received it in just under two weeks, if I remember correctly. It was fairly easy to set up, but I had to use the web interface to do so, since the Nighthawk app failed me. But it was easy to do. And the router has been perfect; I only have7 devices hooked up; I directly wired my smart tv to it this time( ethernet) as as well as my PC, and I let the Smart Connect feature do its thing. The Nighthawk app works extremely well now and I have updated the firmware when it calls for it. The devices do disappear from view on the app from time to time, but they seem to be there when I am using them so I don't worry about it. I have used the router for nearly a month now, with no problems, but last night the fan started coming on and it happened several times. So I now have it elevated just a bit from the desktop and am hoping that will prevent it from overheating, which may have been the problem with my last router. Time will tell, but if this expensive router fails, I certainly won't be buying another one. Probably should be exercising and reading more anyway.... ... show more

This router is a dream! 3 bands: 2.4ghz and two 5G connections! 4 wired connections. This is by far the easiest router to set up. You download the app after making the standard Ethernet connection to your modem. I use my router for gaming, 4K streaming, and work. I have yet to have a failed connection! If you have a big house than 2.4g may be the best band to connect but for a small apartment you can easily use 5G for cellphones and tv’s. I would say this is worth every penny tho very expensive. The app allows you to see who is on your network and kick others off, lol. You can also switch guest WiFi on/off at the switch of a button within the net gear app. It comes with parental controls, speed test, and traffic meter. Support and security are also included. I don’t usually give 5 stars and would not arbitrarily do it but trust me it is worth it. As soon as I turned it on and fired up the app it was on autopilot. This was by far the best setup process. I did not have to close my network as it set it up that way. I don’t have to give out my network password because I can set up guest WiFi. There really are no cons except for occasional noise, but that is not a big deal. ... show more
