    • Great but with quirks
Nice compact machine. Makes an excellent brew. Does have some quirks though... Not sure why, but the machine seems to always be in sleep mode. So your fist touch does nothing. Like, open it up - nope. Have to try again. Left it open to air out and want to close it later? First try does nothing. Why, Nespresso? Second quirk: quite a loud catching click that doesn't sound good when the top closes over a pod. Doesn't seem good. A bigger machine I used to have didn't sound this way, so it can't be the piercing of the pods. Lastly, pulling off the water canister you should be careful - it takes a bit of force. I hold the base down, then pull, so that I don't break the plastic connect arm. If you can live with these minor quirks, you'll love this thing. It's working well for me. ... show more

    • Makes great coffee
Makes great coffee. When I first opened the box, the coffee maker did have a plastic odor. After several cleaning cycles and leaving the unit open to air out, the plastic smell was gone.

    • These People are Serious about Good Coffee!
For many years, I enjoyed my every morning cup brewed by Starbuck’s Verismo with my favorite Starbuck’s coffee pod. I was content. Then the thing wore out. The machine itself was discontinued, and the coffee pods were no longer produced. I was a sad sack. I tried Keurig and other coffee brewing methods, and while they all produced coffee, none had the same bright zing as my beloved Verissmo. And so, I discontentedly slugged down my French pressed cuppa every morning for the years since. I’ve seen the clever Nespresso ads with Clooney and DeVito. I never thought they were speaking to me, but those ads did lodge somewhere in the back of my mind. Then I came across Nespresso on sale. I had to think about it for awhile because I had to research if this model was right for me. I settled on it, finally, and that was the moment I made one of my few right and good decisions. It’s like the Vertuo Plus is a doorway to a new dimension. A whole new world has since opened up to me. I am happy to get out of bed in the morning because I know what is waiting for me. The machine is very well made. Nothing flimsy or cheap about it. It is engineered so all the parts fit exactly right. The hydraulic action on the open and close of the pod compartment is endlessly fascinating. It makes me feel futuristic and high brow like I am the owner of a gull-winged car that costs a bajillion dollars. It’s the coffee that really is the star, though. There was a sample pack of Nespresso pods included and every one of them are my new favorite. It’s difficult to describe the difference from other coffees, but this is like the stuff you get at a great coffee shop. But better. Right in my kitchen. Every day. It makes my place smell wonderful and it’s all now part of my morning ritual. Before going to bed, I make sure there’s water in the reservoir, I select my coffee pod from the endless variety they offer, put my cup in place and in the morning, there is only one button to press to open the doorway to the land of the living.     • Simple, decadent and delicious!
This was a Chanukah gift for my husband. He is now a coffee addict. He adores this. He has also started making his own blends which he says is easy. It is fast and every cup whether one shot (1.2 oz I think); 2 shot pod (2.7 oz) 5 oz or full coffee cup (7oz) has a beautiful crema on it every time. We use mainly decaf and sometimes blend two flavors. It is a one touch to lift; one touch to lower and one tap to start. So simple, decadent and delicious. ... show more

[updated] I just realized the machine I received is a VertuoPlus and not the VertuoPlus DELUXE that I ordered and is clearly stated in the product listing here for the color I ordered (matte black). This explains why the little cup tray isn't metal like my previous one was. 😡 [Original] I ordered this new machine to replace my old one (same model, diff color) that finally broke after a few years. Received order today and you could tell the box had already been opened. I removed the machine and I could also tell the machine was used (marks/scuffs on it) but the kicker was that the sample pack of pods was already opened and 6 of the 12 were missing. The little cup holder part is also cheap plastic whereas the one on my old one was metal (see image). I'm not sure if that is explained by the color difference in the machine. Definitely makes it seem cheaply made though. Because I've been without a machine for a couple days, I did test it and it seems to work (a lot louder than my previous one) though I am most certainly not a fan of receiving a used machine and I don't have a lot of faith that they checked anything with it since the sample box was already open and half the pods were missing. I really don't feel like dealing with a return so unless I find more issues, I'll probabaly just keep it. ... show more

I’m so excited for my new Nespresso machine! The noise level is low and the coffee quality taste is great. The water tank is very functional as it holds a lot compared to an older model I had.

    • Great coffee machine
Brew speed is fantastic and it looks great on everywhere. Not very loud and works really well with the best crema that you can find from home. Hot coffee comes out at perfect temperature. Size of the machine fits in anywhere in home.
