This was the best purchase I have ever made. I’m a huge coffee lover and this makes the most creamy coffee. Though restocking the coffee pods is quite expensive. It’s premium coffee in your own home. You can spend $10+ at Starbucks daily and that’s max 10 cups for $100 or you can spend $100 for 50 pods for premium coffee in 2 minutes. It’s super easy to clean, many flavors to choose from, hot coffee in a few minutes. Perfection!

Nice compact machine. Makes an excellent brew. Does have some quirks though... Not sure why, but the machine seems to always be in sleep mode. So your fist touch does nothing. Like, open it up - nope. Have to try again. Left it open to air out and want to close it later? First try does nothing. Why, Nespresso? Second quirk: quite a loud catching click that doesn't sound good when the top closes over a pod. Doesn't seem good. A bigger machine I used to have didn't sound this way, so it can't be the piercing of the pods. Lastly, pulling off the water canister you should be careful - it takes a bit of force. I hold the base down, then pull, so that I don't break the plastic connect arm. If you can live with these minor quirks, you'll love this thing. It's working well for me.

For many years, I enjoyed my every morning cup brewed by Starbuck’s Verismo with my favorite Starbuck’s coffee pod. I was content. Then the thing wore out. The machine itself was discontinued, and the coffee pods were no longer produced. I was a sad sack. I tried Keurig and other coffee brewing methods, and while they all produced coffee, none had the same bright zing as my beloved Verissmo. And so, I discontentedly slugged down my French pressed cuppa every morning for the years since. I’ve seen the clever Nespresso ads with Clooney and DeVito. I never thought they were speaking to me, but those ads did lodge somewhere in the back of my mind. Then I came across Nespresso on sale. I had to think about it for awhile because I had to research if this model was right for me. I settled on it, finally, and that was the moment I made one of my few right and good decisions. It’s like the Vertuo Plus is a doorway to a new dimension. A whole new world has since opened up to me. I am happy to get out of bed in the morning because I know what is waiting for me. The machine is very well made. Nothing flimsy or cheap about it. It is engineered so all the parts fit exactly right. The hydraulic action on the open and close of the pod compartment is endlessly fascinating. It makes me feel futuristic and high brow like I am the owner of a gull-winged car that costs a bajillion dollars. It’s the coffee that really is the star, though. There was a sample pack of Nespresso pods included and every one of them are my new favorite. It’s difficult to describe the difference from other coffees, but this is like the stuff you get at a great coffee shop. But better. Right in my kitchen. Every day. It makes my place smell wonderful and it’s all now part of my morning ritual. Before going to bed, I make sure there’s water in the reservoir, I select my coffee pod from the endless variety they offer, put my cup in place and in the morning, there is only one button to press to open the doorway to the land of the living. If you are still hesitating, I tell you to not bother. You want this.

Update 11/10/2023- makes great coffee with a lot of crema top. Two comments: 1. Be sure to remove used pods immediately. One got stuck after leaving it in a few days and it didn’t release so the LED was blinking red after placing a new pod since the lid could not close. Had to remove manually - carefully. 2. For those people commenting about how long this machine lasts - buy a warranty. This is a complex machine with a lot of moving parts. Original review: I have an original Nespresso that I still use but I wanted to try the Vertuo Line. I really like this machine because it’s a nice sturdy build. It’s a larger machine but worth the space. Makes great coffee with many options on the serving amount. The manufacturer origin is Ukraine according to the box - it’s well made and seems high quality. Comes with a Nespresso sampler which is very helpful to figure out which coffees are preferred over others. I have a “regular” espresso machine which is a bit more work that I still use as well. This Vertuo machine is so convenient and makes a nice cup of espresso or coffee quickly. Really glad I bought it and hope to enjoy it for the long term.

I have used Nespresso Originaline coffee pods for nearly two decades now but was frustrated to find I could not get a replacement machine in a reasonable time. So I purchased this machine which uses the newer Virtuoline capsules. The machine makes outstanding espresso and coffee and it's automation system is quite impressive especially for the price. I originally did not like the idea of it making the determination of how strong my coffee would be by reading a barcode on the capsule to determine how much water it would dispense through it, but I have learned that it is quite possible to extract a second or partial brew from the original pod placed in the machine and can therefore get 12 ounces of great brew. I prefer the Mexican which has more coffee in the pod than some of the other coffee blends. I hope this holds up as long or longer than my three other Nespresso machines have. Also it has a much larger reservoir for water (I only use distilled water to prevent the need to descale) and the unit will hold many more capsules before it needs to be emptied. I believe this is the best designed Nespresso machine that has yet been designed by Delongi. Also my machine was built in Ukraine and not China, at least for now. So I hope they defeat Putin before their factory gets destroyed. I love the machine and Nespresso beans. Life is too short to drink bad coffee.

I don't know how authentic an espresso this actually is, technically speaking, but it tastes like I'm in a coffee shop. I know there are there the $500 machines that take a bunch of steps, and you have that professional looking handle that you plug into the machine, but just do not want one of those, because I prefer a simple button to press like this one. The manual is unfortunately a little insufficient. When you get it, you need to watch youtube videos - and Nespresso does have their own. I even had to check reddit for help with something ( the initial cleaning step, but now all is good, and everything works as intended. ). I bought it for a specific purpose: I just want a 5 oz. cup of coffee that does not require any sweeteners, to drink before I get on my treadmill first thing in the morning. And this stuff is excellent, and thus does not need any sweetener and milk. I'm keeping my other coffeemaker for larger cups later, where i put my collagen in, etc, that I drink with my breakfast after exercise.

[updated] I just realized the machine I received is a VertuoPlus and not the VertuoPlus DELUXE that I ordered and is clearly stated in the product listing here for the color I ordered (matte black). This explains why the little cup tray isn't metal like my previous one was. 😡 [Original] I ordered this new machine to replace my old one (same model, diff color) that finally broke after a few years. Received order today and you could tell the box had already been opened. I removed the machine and I could also tell the machine was used (marks/scuffs on it) but the kicker was that the sample pack of pods was already opened and 6 of the 12 were missing. The little cup holder part is also cheap plastic whereas the one on my old one was metal (see image). I'm not sure if that is explained by the color difference in the machine. Definitely makes it seem cheaply made though. Because I've been without a machine for a couple days, I did test it and it seems to work (a lot louder than my previous one) though I am most certainly not a fan of receiving a used machine and I don't have a lot of faith that they checked anything with it since the sample box was already open and half the pods were missing. I really don't feel like dealing with a return so unless I find more issues, I'll probabaly just keep it.
