Description

The Nespresso VertuoPlus Deluxe coffee and espresso machine brews 4 single- serve cup sizes just with the touch of a button. Each machine includes a complimentary welcome set with a range of Nespresso Vertuo capsules with unique aroma profiles. Nespresso Coffee and Espresso Machine makes use of dual size single-serve capsules for brewing either coffee or espresso with consistent flavor at the touch of a button. Nespresso VertuoPlus Deluxe uses large capsule for coffee and small for espresso and has patented Centrifusion extraction technology reads barcode on the rim of compatible single-serve capsules and automatically sets brewing parameters. The VertuoPlus Deluxe machine brews four cup sizes: 1.35 oz Espresso, 2.7 oz Double Espresso, 5.0 oz Gran Lungo, and 7.7 oz Coffee. Additional features include: an adjustable tray, extra-large 60 oz. water reservoir, machine automatically ejects capsules after brewing; holds up to 17 use capsules, heat up time of only 15-20 seconds and energy-saving automatic shutoff after 9 minutes of inactivity.

I'm not someone who likes over-automated appliances, so I was skeptical of this unit. It has a different formula for volume and intensity of the shot based on a barcode it reads on the rim of the pods. I was attracted to this model because I need a double shot, and many machines only do single shots. To do a double, I just use pods that have the right barcode for doubles. In comparison to the older machine, this one pulls better shots. Intead of just puncturing the front and pushing the water through the back of the pod, this one puts smaller holes all around the edges and one big hole in the middle, causing a more even shot to get pulled. I feel like the expresso is getting thoroughly saturated. The crema level is twice as good as my older machine. The taste is great. I like clearing out the lines before I use the machine each day, and I was worried that would be difficult with this machine, but I realized you can initiate a cleaning cycle by pushing the main button 3x, then push it again 3x when you want to stop it, so I just do a short cleaning cycle each day before putting my pod in. I fill my own pods, which is easy and satisfying. I'm using throwaways from the samples that came with the machine along with a Nessus Capsule Kit and stickers and my favorite dark roast decaf espresso beans. All in all, great machine! ... show more

I saw this model on a lightening deal and decided to buy it. It came with the frother and a variety pack of coffee. The Plus is easy to set up and use, although the water tank had an air lock that took several attempts to clear. Deeper reading reveals that this particular Vertuo is not bluetooth enabled. But, maybe that's overkill. The milkl frother is very easy to use and makes amazing froth. It is particularly good with Barista style oat milk (I use Oatly), which can be fickle to get right. The media could not be loaded. I first was introduced to this coffee maker in a hotel room and I just had to have one for my home. After reading some positive reviews I took a risk on the used - like new to save some money and get the frother as well. I couldn’t be happier with the machine I received. The box was a little damaged but overall it was just like new and in perfect condition. There were no signs of this machine being used at all. I’m glad I took the gamble on this because I got the frother and basically a new Nespresso machine for less than the cost of a new machine without the frother! I'm not your typical coffee drinker...not a snob about having to have a certain kind or flavor, I don't buy coffee every day and I honestly don't even have a coffee maker on my counter. BUT...I love a good cup of coffee and can certainly taste the difference. I had a couple different Nespresso pods at my friend's house a while back and it was great, but I never got my own. After doing some research, I decided to go with a Vertuo machine and ultimately with the Vertuo Plus. I like the flexibility of the water tank as it can swivel from one side to the other and the reviews all said this was a great one to get. I scored this with the frother on sale, but wasn't sure what pods I should get. I was delightfully surprised with I found this setup came with a sampler pack of pods!! I've used it a couple weeks now and it does NOT disappoint! I quickly learned which my favorite pods were thanks to the sampler pack. I brew one cup before I head to work (and mix in my steamed/frothed milk!) and sip on it on my commute. I wasn't sure I'd ever use the frother, but it is a game changer!! SO SO GOOD! On weekends, I have 2-3 cups. One concern is the cost of the pods. Today I received the pod refiller setup and a can of good espresso and tried that. That will be a separate review, but I can say that it's really good and works great! Buy with confidence and enjoy the deliciousness that it produces! ... show more

**UPDATE** I was able to figure out how to work around the issue with the pod getting stuck. It seems to be related to the heat causing expansion and contraction. My wife would make her coffee in the morning and then leave the used pod inside until the next day when she went to make her next cup of coffee. By this time the pod was cooled down and apparently some expansion inside the coffee maker was occurring as it cooled. This causes the pods to get stuck. We've found that if she removes them immediately after making her cup of coffee everything works as normal. Not sure if this can be fixed or not. **UPDATE** Wife loves this machine but the pods are constantly getting stuck in it and not popping up. When we first got it, it worked great. Pods popped up and were pulled out and slid to the back container. Now it doesn’t do that anymore. The entire mechanism stay lowered down in the machine and we have to pry the pod up until it pops up. Then we can manually remove the pod. ... show more
