**UPDATE** I had an issue with the charger, similar to another reviewer, which appears to be a rare case. The power button became stuck. So naturally I wrote Nekteck the next chance I got, and it happened to be after midnight.. Please note that on their website it states that their customer service work hours are 9-5.. so I was taken aback when they responded almost immediately. WOW.. a nice surprise to say the least.. and after conversing, it became evident just how much Nekteck wants for their customers to be satisfied with their products. Long story short, they let me know that same night, that they processed a request, and that I would be receiving a replacement within 3-7 days. 3 days later, it arrived and it brought me peace of mind and satisfaction at knowing that this company is dependable and stand by their product. This is the kind of customer service that all shoppers deserve. It is simply nice to know that they care, and I have no affiliation to Nekteck, and write this testimony out of gratitude, to let others know that if you fill out the warranty, and contact them regarding any issue that may arise, they will make right by you as they did for me. This is the kind of company I personally love to buy from. One who values their customers. Two thumbs way up for Nekteck and their customer service. To this day, I am very happy that I came across an article written by Google Software Engineer Benson Leung, who recommended Nekteck's USB-IF Certified cables. That has led me to learn about other great products they have, including this car jump starter. So a big thank you to Mr. Leung, thanks to all at Nekteck and their great customer service, R.V. in particular, and thanks to you for taking the time to read about my experience. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ First and foremost, i love the safety features.. The strobe light and S.O.S. feature can help one to signal for help and are quite useful. Being spark-proof and having lights on the clamps which indicate if they are on properly, are greatly appreciated. I don't personally need the indicator, but it can make this the jump starter to own for anyone who is new to jump starting. This can definitely make a nice gift for someone who will get their first car. Additionally, being long lasting and having the ability to charge devices, make it a must have product.

I had a very well drained battery (~5v) from sitting around due to current pandemic situation. My first attempt to start it involved a similar lipo device I had lying around, but it wasn't powerful enough (about half mAh of this one with unknown amp rating) to crank the engine over with such a drained battery. My second option was to get a jump start using regular jumper cables from a neighbor, and that too failed for whatever reason. After watching various youtube videos (including the Project Farm reviews) I knew that these devices in general should be up to the job, but it was a matter of getting one of sufficient power. My main requirement other than the power was actually the UL 2743 rating. While in theory Amazon requires this for all such jumper devices, I suspect that unless explicitly stated most don't actually have this certification. So although this Nekteck one didn't have "proper" capacity/power benchmarks done in the videos that I've seen I thought I'd take the chance on it since it was reasonably priced compared to similar alternatives, had twice the power of my previous one (on paper), had the proper certifications, and nice to haves like Quick Charge 3. I went straight in with the boost mode turned on without trying the regular mode, and the car engine immediately turned over, with the Nekteck showing 4 bars still. Left the car on idle for an hour and after turning it off the lead battery was back at over 12 volts. I'll have to see if it continues to hold charge as I still might need to replace the lead battery anyway, but as the lead battery is only two or so years old I might try to give it a few charge cycles if it doesn't hold a charge initially. Either way, this thing worked like a charm and was a bargain for the features offered. Also the UL certification gives me a bit of a peace of mind that it hopefully won't randomly burst into flames ;)

Update 11/24/2020 A lady stopped me at the gas station this evening and asked me for a jump! She asked me to see if I could park next to her. I told her I had this thing and could just walk over. Super handy. I haven't charged it since I helped the last person. This car started right up, first try. I should probably charge it. This thing is definitely worth it! Update 9/16/2020 It's been in the car since I wrote my initial review and today I ran into someone who needed a jump at the hardware store. It was still at 100 percent and we got her car jumped on the first try! Perfect! Original review: So far so good. The unit comes with all the needed cables to jump a car and charge a device with a usb-c connection. It also comes with a quick charge 3.0 wall charger which is great for my cell phone. The flashlight works as a typical flashlight with the strobe options. It's pretty light weight for the battery life it provides. After being in the car for two trips in the summer heat, the battery life remained at 100 percent. It's also nice to have a battery backup for my devices. It is too soon to tell if it would actually jump a car. I just had to get a new battery after I was stranded so I plan to keep this with me. The first opportunity I get to test it jumping a car, I'll update this review.
