My Blue Snowball died and I was looking for an even cheaper replacement that was loud enough for voice and flute as I Skype and Zoom lessons. I have options that include AKG and MXL mics that cost over $200 and $100 each, but I wanted a USB mic that didn't need and addition phantom power preamp (of which I have two). I use my USB preamp mixer and my pricier mics for my twice-a-week Zoom concerts. Everything works great, but I wanted a plug and play simple no-hassle mic for lessons. So far, so good. I tested the mic and it works fine so far. Because it has a somewhat reduced frequency response I just got a Neewer NW 8000 USB mic. So I should be pretty well covered. This usb microphone kit is the best! Plug and play so set up and recording can be done in a jiffy and delivers professional sound. Great cardioid pattern pick up, classic look with a modern blue polished twist, really pretty. High output with low noice interference input. Accurately produces subtle and clear sound. The stand clamp fits to the edge of my desk and firmly stands and suspends in and out with the foldable, double braced scissor arm. The spring makes adjustments easy and quiet. Mic is VERY clear for a USB mic. It will catch sounds from your computer if it is 2 feet away. (I have my 3 fans on 100% (gaming PC)). Good quality mic for PUBG, GTA V, etc. I recommend putting your mic settings to 16 bit 48000Hz. It is defaulted at 41000Hz. It will make your noise sound poppy if you plug it in w/o adjusting settings. Mic arm can extend to about 3ft-4ft, best approx. Con: The adapter on the arm to the shock mount wouldn't turn straight down. It would turn crooked, making it strip. Please be careful with that. That happened to me. (Shown in picture). EDIT: 4 months down the line and the boom arm is failing. The part where you connect the arm to the desk mount is really bad. The metal is thin and will bend easily. You get what you pay for. Gonna go for a tripod stand instead. ... show more

I could rave about this microphone all day but to be brief, it's fantastic! People used to have so much trouble hearing my sound during skype calls for work, from the built in mic on my laptop, that I finally decided to buy an external one. I get the perfect and complete set up with the attachable clamp scissor arm. The audio has completely changed for better now that I'm using this. I can pair it with my laptop thanks to the usb plug in, I just have to change the default mic to this & I'm all set for voice calls as well as recording. The sound is condensed and isolated with the shock mount to protect my mic from falls as well as vibrations. Microphone was working great right out of the box (October 4th microphone arrived) no problems whatsoever i used the microphone for live streaming, gaming, chats like discord and it worked great good sound quality, but suddenly it stopped working today (December 7 2017) i tried different USB cables to get it to work and nothing. I even opened up the microphone to check what was wrong and nothing was all the wires are snug fit and nothing looks wrong. better off going with a blue snowball ... show more

I was hoping that a USB mic would have been more powerful and high quality than a 3.5mm. Boy, was I wrong. This highest setting the mic can use is 1 channel, 16 bit, 48,000 Hz through the generic Windows USB mic driver. No extra drivers to help improve the quality to at least up to 192k Hz. I was hoping to use it for game streaming, but it doesn't sound good to me even when I use audacity. I'll try to fiddle with it more, but so far it doesn't seem to be a good fit. Amazing microphone for the price. The usb definitely works with pretty much any DAW out there, with some tweaking to get it to work with reason 10. Someone suggested on here to change the settings of the mic which I'm going to try to do shortly. This has a very clean sound for the price, very loud with no need for a phantom power or audio interface. Very easy set up. Pretty well built as well, I've been using it for at least a month with no issues. I highly suggest getting a pop filter for this it definitely changes the sound. ... show more

Every one has a good quality, and every penny is worth it. In addition to the most obvious price advantage, the included boom is completely beyond my expectations.
