  • (UPDATE!) NOW, perfect....
Platform For Display: Xbox Set: Stealth 700 XB
(**Update: 2/23/21** - I recently installed the Firmware Update V2.1.2, and have tested for a couple of weeks. I have not had the connectivity loss issue since. I noticed before writing this today, that there is now another Firmware update available. I do not get my laptop out very often these days, and since I'm no longer having issues, I won't drag it out until it's convenient to update again. I am now100% pleased with these bad boys. I have updated to a 5-star review. BTW.. I recently left my Bose QCII's on after having watched some YouTube, and opened my current game. I could not believe how much of a lousier difference there was between them and my Turtle Beaches. I immediately grabbed for them, much to my ears' delight. Huuuuge, difference. The Bose are fine for TV, but definitely not for gaming. Initial review: These headphones would EASILY have been a 5-star rating... were it not for connectivity issues. When these work, which to be fair, is most of the time, they are fabulous. I am VERY into great headphones, music, and gaming. My old wired (at LEAST 10 yrs old) Turtle Beach headphones, were dying. For the record, just the wire part, not the cans themselves. I wear headphones almost all of the time, whether it be for games, music, or YouTube. Okay, on with the meat of the review... Right off the bat, they look great. I was actually pretty surprised they there is no signature green anywhere to be found. That's neither good nor bad. They look very sturdy and well-made. I thought, just handling them, that they might be really uncomfortably tight, but they aren't at all. They are snug in just the right way. Now I am a woman, and have a small head, lol, so I can't say how they'll fit a larger-headed dude. The controls are all easily reachable when wearing. The first thing I do with anything with a battery, is to completely charge it. These come at least partially charged because it didn't take long for these. Then I got the Firmware update via my Win 8.1 laptop. Set up with the app (and yes, the app works great) and my Xbox One, as well as pairing with my phone and tablet was easy enough. Ahhh, the sound. Fabulous. That little worry I have when I go to put headphones on for the first time, about how they're gonna sound, was instantly quelled. The sound is perfect. No hissing, not too much this or that (and you can adjust it if you like with the app, and sound great whether gaming, listening to music, or watching YouTube. I have not yet tried them in a call, but I just cannot imagine the experience would be anything less than great. ) I never had surround sound headphones for gaming before, and MAN do they make a difference. That reason alone has made my gaming a much better experience. I'll never play without surround sound again. Now, the disappointing part... MOST of the time, things just couldn't be better. However, sometimes, all of a sudden, the sound drops out. There is no audible statement to be heard about a drop in connectivity, and no visual notification comes up on your screen. Just.. nothing. The only thing that has brought back the sound for me, has been to turn the headphones off, then back on again. BUT sometimes even THAT won't do it unless I do it several times. SOMETIMES, they turn themselves off after I've turned them back on. I sit about 7 ft. from my Xbox One BTW. Now all of that is MAJORLY disruptive when gaming. It's a good thing I only play single-player games. I can only imagine being part of a team where talking to your budding is crucial (Speaking of which, BTW, the mic is clear.), and all of a sudden you aren't in the picture. You can't talk to them, they can't talk to you. You can only witness the carnage and confusion that results. It sucks even playing by myself and there is a cut-scene, or bad guy speech, or instruction and the sound is gone, right in the middle of it, with no way for me to get that replayed. It's just lost and you have to Google to see what you've missed, if it's even there. Now as I said previously, MOST of the time, there is no problem with this. That doesn't matter though, when you miss something. I am hoping there is another Firmware update that fixes the issue. Otherwise, I'll put in a support ticket with Turtle Beach. Without this connectivity issue, I would be happy as a pig in slop with these. The sound is phenomenal. $150.00 cans should work 100% of the time though. So there is that. ... show more

  • Great headset!
Platform For Display: Xbox Set: Stealth 700 XB
Since I was about four years old, I have been playing Xbox. I started playing MX vs. ATV on the original Xbox. In 2008, I was six, I started playing Call of Duty: World at War. Since then, Xbox has been in my life just about every day. I have played many games over many years. I know what a headset needs, and I know what can make a headset not worth its money. I know what the right price is for a headset. A very important aspect to video games is the sound and the sound quality. It plays a huge part in the quality of a game as a whole. Basically, I have been through about a dozen Xbox headsets in my life. Overall, this headset is THE top headset for this amazing price. You could argue that $150 is not an “amazing” price, but I use it and need it every single day. Sure, there are way more expensive and ridiculous headsets out there, but the prices are just absurd and not really worth it. Going from battery life to just simple convenience, this headset is superior to the all the ones I have had. The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 is the headset you should get. This headset is a wireless headset which I believe is superior to wired headsets. Some may argue that it is annoying to have to charge your headset. I think that is a sorry excuse because just like any phone or other electronic, all I do is plug it in when I am done using it and that is it. I have a few reasons why it is more convenient to have a wireless headset. In between games or rounds, I can just hop up and go do something while still talking to my friends and I can hear when the game is about to start, so I know when to come back, without having to carry my controller where I go. I can also just set my controller anywhere and I do not have to be a wire length away the whole time my headset is on my head. I can also turn my head freely without a cord dangling down plugged into my controller. You just feel freer without a “leash” attached to your head. The headset has so many other minor conveniences to having no wire but there is too many to list. But now you may ask yourself, “then if a wireless headset is a way to go, then why THIS wireless headset in particular?”. I have owned a few wireless headsets in my past. Once I first went wireless a few headsets ago, I never went back. I think this one is the best in particular. Whenever I turn this mic on, I hear “batter level medium” or “battery level high”. Obviously, depending on the battery level. I have never known in my previous headsets’ battery level was at. So, I could be in the middle of playing with friends and all of a sudden, in an important moment, my headset will die. There is nothing more frustrating than having a great time playing and talking to friends, and all of a sudden, you cannot even hear them or talk to them. You are having a great Friday night with the boys, and the next thing you know it is ruined. But this one you know the battery level every time you turn it on. This headset also makes it very easy to mute yourself when eating or talking to someone in the room with you, so you do not bother or annoy your friends. The pads are also leather which keeps your head cool and it is very comfortable. The earpieces each have bass boosters which make games and movies just that much better. The sound adjusters are on the actual headset itself which makes it very easy to adjust. It has a game volume control and a chat volume control so you can adjust your game volume and your friends’ volume to your comfort. There is also Bluetooth so you can connect it to any device you like that is available. Overall, this is just a very easy headset. It is a very lightweight, yet expensive feeling headset. Everything about it is just convenient and helpful which makes your gaming experience a lot better and more enjoyable. ... show more

  • Very good headset with natural listening features that's very clear
I was looking for a wireless headset with microphone and bought regular one. It hurt my ears even without my glasses. I decided to go with gaming headsets. I've tried a few of them both wired and wireless [brands like X!beri@] and had some defect including the mic. After further review, I took my chance on the 600 G2. I decided to go with the 600 G2 because I mainly will be using it for meetings and online conferences. What drew me to these were the comfort, features and lightness in weight, good sound and ease of use in windows 10 to automatically adopt the headset through plug and play. 1. The headset is comfortable even with glasses on. However, I've decided to buy the memory foam ones from wicked cushions. The ones on the 700 G2 is what I would prefer but I don't want the bluetooth plus the way the memory foam may easily come out because of how it's installed. I've see a few videos of the weakness and I am a bit rough on headphones. The OEM pads a good but the ones from WC feels plush and pillow soff on your ears. 2. The weight, feel and look is very gorgeous. It does feel very premium. 3. The headphones are very clear and crisp. Listening to meetings and audio podcasts are a joy. The placement of the volume and mic dials and the subtle recess/protrusion of the power/sound modes buttons are right where they are supposed to be and the operation seems natural using your left hand. For audiophiles, this is definitely not what you want to use to listen to music. I have the Sony 1000XM3 headphones for reference and these headphones are good (audiophiles = OK.......decent enough) for listening to casual music without going through the hassle of switching to another headphone. Subjectively, I'd say that the headset is about 50% comparable to my Sony headphones but they good with just enough bass and clarity to not let you pass an hour before your next online meeting. And yes, I love bass (minimal) and it's does have some oomph using the sound modes that you can pretty much use without switching to a high end one for what it is worth. Don't expect an audiophile sound with these for listening to pure music. 4. Without reading the user manual, connecting this to a windows 10 pc was plug and play. With the headset on, plug in the wireless transceiver, the computer recognizes and install all the drivers needed and that's it. It defaults the the wireless headset and I had to change it since that was not the preference I wanted. 5. Another thing that really drew me to buy this headset is the mic and how it's integrated into the headset. Up/folded in = off, midway=mute and down=fully on. You also hear the different tones for the different mic positions. The sound modes, volume and mic controls are also integrated nicely as well and it also looks completely sturdy and cool and I really like it. 6. While it is made in China (like everything else), it has excellent support in ENGLISH. I downloaded the Turtle Beach software and mine said it was up to date on the software. 7. These operate more like in transparency mode when you talk (mic on). When the mic is off, it appears to block out some of the external noise. This headset, particularly the mic does not appear to have external noise reduction so keep that in mind. I use Teams for meetings which have a noise suppression built in so this headset works for me. ... show more

  • Great, besides frequent pairing flaws
Platform For Display: PlayStation Set: Stealth 700 PS
I ordered this headset when I finally caved in and bought a PS5 earlier this year. My sibling uses Turtle Beach products and swears by them, so I figured this would be a good place to start. Unfortunately, I have run into many flaws since receiving them. Some of which make the experience of using them feel like a hassle. However, the issues are (usually) pretty easy to fix, therefore I’m still giving it 4 stars. Here’s my breakdown: Pro’s: -Great sound quality; sound is loud and clear. -Minimal microphone issues -The “flip up to mute” microphone feature is a wonderful one. Very convenient. -Ear cushions are comfortable, there is even one on the part that rests on your head, so it doesn’t feel like it’s digging in to your skull. -It was relatively easy to set up when I first received it. Con’s: -I’ve been told my mic sometimes makes me sound like I have a “high-pitched” filter on it. Usually restarting my gaming system helps resolve the issue. -Although the “flip up to mute” feature is convenient, I have been told the wiring can wear out over time—rendering that feature useless. It still works for me at the moment, so only time will tell. -It frequently fails to automatically pair when I turn the headset on. It worked perfect and seamlessly every time for the first month or two, but it has slowly gone down hill. Sometimes restarting my gaming system and/or the headset will solve the issue, but there are special occasions where I have to move the wireless USB connector to a different USB port to resolve it. -Headset will often shut off unexpectedly, even with full battery. -Sometimes when I turn on the headset, the voice that says “battery level ___” will cut out and start buzzing really loud until I restart the headset. Overall, I really enjoy the sound quality, mic quality, and features this headset offers. I just expected higher quality and less connectivity issues given the hefty price tag. I’m still on the fence about whether I’d recommend this product to a friend, or re-purchase this product in the future. ... show more

  • Amazing headset, and yes the app does work!
Platform For Display: Xbox Set: Stealth 700 XB
I want to first start off saying I was totally against TB, the last headset I had from them was garbage and felt like a kids toy, however after preordering the Xbox Series X I knew I needed a good headset and these officially advertise to work with the new Xbox so I went ahead and decided to try them out and boy am I glad I did. First these feel premium, they have weight to it and fit to your head and form perfectly! They are tight at first but after about an hour they break in and feel perfect. I don't really notice the cooling gel ear pads as my ears do get warm but that's not really a big deal as they fit so snugly to eliminate outside noises. As far as the weight is they way right around 14oz, so they are beefey but not to the point where they feel like they become a weight on your head. I've done hours and hours of gaming and honestly I forget they are on. Sound quality is amazing! I paired it to my phone to listen to music and the bass it has is just breath taking. Game audio sounds amazing and you can actually hear footsteps and where they are coming from. App, so I saw a lot of people mention you can't connect the headset to the app. However in order to have the headset pair to the app you must paid the headset to the phone. To do this open the app and let it start searching, now hit the Bluetooth button and the headset will say "Bluetooth on" and the app will find the headset instantly! If you want to paid your phone to the headset then you just press and hold the Bluetooth button and your phone will be able to find the headset and pair to it. The app allows you to customize what the buttons do and allows you to easily adjust your chat volume and change settings. You can also update firmware which is great as new features and bug fixes can be implemented with ease! Overall I am EXTREMLY satisfied with the 700 series and highly reccomend them. You won't be disappointed. ... show more

  • DO YOUR UPDATE!
Platform For Display: Xbox Set: Stealth 600 XB White
I always read reviews before buying electronics, so after reading reviews on this headset I was fairly confident that I was either going to love this headset or hate it. Reviews said the mic monitoring was way too sensitive and that it made the item unusable. The good: Sound is clear, adjustable, and surround, and the headset is comfortable. You adjust it in your Xbox settings and tell it you have surround sound on and everything changes. It's amazing. The sound is so clear and the volume is great! One problem I had with other sets is that the sound was too low. This one hasn't got that problem at all. It has volume adjustments for both game and party chat right on the side of the headset. Excellent because honestly, I don't like having to go into the xbox sound settings to adjust that. The ear pieces are very comfortable and lightweight. I wear glasses and most headsets push my glasses in on my head and it's kinda uncomfortable. This headset doesn't push on my glasses at all and is super comfortable. The bad: The only thing bad I can think of to say about this headset is that the pad on the top of the headband is an odd kinda foam feeling pad. I think after a while it'll wear down. I like the cloth strap better on the Arctis, but hey, can we really have everything? The important: When you get your headset, before you even sync it, plug it into a computer. Download the update program from Turtle Beach, and do your firmware update! If you do this, you won't have any problems with the mic monitoring that everybody is complaining about. DO YOUR UPDATE! It even comes with a paper inside telling you to update your firmware! If you fail to do so, your issues are not a problem with the headset...they're with your head. ... show more

  • Connection issues, no sound, won't shut off
Platform For Display: Xbox Set: Stealth 600 XB Black
3/24/2021 updated review: I am incredibly disappointed in this headset after months now of having to uodate the headset, to the headsets constant & frequent connection issues, to the headset needing to constantly be factory reset, the cutting in & out sound, the frequent disconnection issues... It almost makes me never want to buy Turtle Beach again being this 2nd Gen headset is a 1000 times worse than the 1st Gen 600 series headset. Nothing but a headache. I can barely enjoy a game let alone a movie. If it wasn't for the connection issues & constant need to factory reset because without doing so the headset freezes & you can't even connect let alone turn it off, I'd score it higher... No, this headset is now, 100%, getting a 1 star review. So disappointing... Like actually makes my gaming & movie watching experience miserable. Done with this... Wish they'd own up to this & make it right. Crappy 100% never again after this constant headache. 3/4/2021 updated review: I'm changing my review one final time & this time from a 5 star to a 4 star... Reason, was forced to hard reset the headset again a few weeks after doing it the first time & after updating the headset. Still, on occasion, have issues the headset cutting in & out... Connection issues to Xbox... Still, pretty good headset that I'd still mostly recommend. Turtle Beach has always been decent. The original Turtle Beach Stealth 600 only lasted just after a year before they just stopped working. Idk... All I can say really. 2/15/2021 updated review: So, after doing some research I was able to download Turtle Beaches Audio Hub on my laptop that aloud me to update my headset. The update was successful! My headset works again for gaming & the issue I had with the headset constantly cutting in & out drastically reduced. I was also able to adjust Mic Monitoring & The Volume level for the headset through the audio hub which is a nice extra feature that has proven to be useful. I'm not sure why you can't do this through the Xbox, but regardless I am once again a happy gamer with my headset! My review will change to 5 stars... Hello guys & gals, here's my review on these Turtle Beach Stealth 600 series Gen 2 gaming headset I bought December 29th 2020. I'm going to try & keep it short & sweet. Connection issues since day one with sound cutting in & out. Sound quality wasn't as good as Gen 1 headset in my opinion. Barely have had these over a month & now no Sound at all coming from headset. They disconnected from the Xbox & now the headset wont even power down or reconnect to the Xbox. Even tried turning my Xbox off then back on & it didn't change anything. Can't power the headset down, green light stays on, won't connect to Xbox, buttons are not functioning, no sound coming from headset, barely had them a month, $108 awkward looking paperweight. I hope the company reimburses me or fixes this issue. Not cool to have paid this kind of money for something to stop working barely over a month later. Update: Downloading Turtle Beachs Audio Updater on my laptop. I did a hard reset on the headset. That worked as far as shutting them down. I won't know how well they work until after they are updated & if, after that, I am able to connect to my Xbox & use them. Hopefully the update improves the quality of the sound & the connection issues... If so, my rating & review will significantly go up. ... show more

  • 1yr later, somewhat satisfied, somewhat disappointed
Platform For Display: Xbox Set: Stealth 700 XB
I've used this headset for almost a year now (11 months, 12 days) on my Xbox One and my Series X. It is my daily-use headset, used pretty much every single day, as I never use any other speakers for sound, whether it's gameplay, videos, shows, or movies. This headset has provided virtually all of my sound delivery for almost a year. I love everything about them, except two things, and they're fairly significant issues for me: 1. Broken Plastic Parts The plastic part of the headband between the "adjustment gap" and the ear cup has broken off on both sides, exposing the metal band beneath. I've treated this headset very, very well, and even have a headset stand for it when I first bought it. Because they're both broken at the same spot on both sides, and in exactly the same way, I'm guessing this is a structural issue, likely a tension between the plastic cover and the metal band beneath it, causing the plastic to break away. This was a gradual process, and each side chipped away a few times in small amounts, but both sides ended up being nearly identical, as you can see in the photos. So far, there haven't been any functionality issues resulting from it, as the headset still fits snuggly and comfortably, while performing normally as well. It's just an issue that I've had with Turtle Beach in the past, with their materials not being quite up to... well, any kind of standard that I would set (if I were a manufacturer who cared about product reliability, that is). 2. Connectivity Issues Every now and then, there will be problems with the headset connecting to the console (it's happened with both the One and Series X). It's very rare, but quite annoying when it does happen. Sometimes, when I'm using the headset, the audio prompt in the headset will say, "Headset paired," even though I'm currently using it, and it's paired just fine, as far as I can tell. Other times, it'll be a distorted connection, with crackling, intermittent sound output. I usually try turning the headset off and back on, but it's hit or miss; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I distinctly remember it malfunctioning on one occasion, and I was trying everything I could think of, even hard-resetting the Xbox console, but the connection was still spotty (at just a few feet away from the console). It often sounds as if I'm reaching the end of the pairing range and it's starting to break up, even though I'm fairly close to the console - typically 6 -15 ft. To be fair here, there is supposedly an update to be had on the Turtle Beach website which supposedly helps with the connectivity problems, but it requires connecting the headset a PC, to which I currently don't have access. (I have a Chromebook, and when I tried to update the headset, it didn't work.) If not for those two complaints, I wouldn't really have any at all. The next worst thing is that the battery life is somewhat mediocre - it's not bad, but it's not great, either. I often find myself playing games with a charging cable dangling from the left ear cup, and many times have I accidentally unplugged it by looking up while stepping on the cable, or something along those lines. That's annoying, but it's a part of the "wireless headset" package to which I've become accustomed, that you'll have to recharge them eventually; and if you're using them, then it's no longer wireless, and you'll have to keep from unplugging them. Still, those two complaints are pretty major for me... If I pay $150 for a headset, it shouldn't start falling to pieces through normal, careful use, and it should be able to connect to the only device for which it was created. (I mean... It's made specifically for the Xbox... Why does it have connectivity issues right out of the box? Why do I need to update a product that I just paid for in order to use it as it is intended? Maybe I missed the fine print that reads, "This is not a finished product. You must achieve what we could not." ... show more
