I’ve never been the biggest fan of Neewer products—perhaps a lingering bias from their earlier reputation as a “cheap” or knockoff brand—but I decided to give these FZ-100 batteries a shot. With Sony’s OEM batteries priced at more than double, it was worth exploring a more affordable option. I’ve had good experiences with third-party batteries in my Fuji kits (notably from BM Premium and WasabiPower), but reports suggested that their FZ-100 equivalents often triggered a “non-compatible battery” warning on Sony bodies—a minor annoyance. I’m happy to report that these Neewer batteries work perfectly in both my Sony a1 and a1 II, even with the latest firmware updates (v3.01 and v2.01, respectively, released April 2025). In real-world use, they appear to offer comparable capacity to Sony’s official FZ-100s, with no error messages or compatibility quirks. Charging is equally flexible: the batteries work seamlessly in Sony’s OEM charger as well as Tilta’s 4-bay USB-C charging station. The ability to top them off via USB-C—whether from a power bank, laptop charger, or wall adapter—is incredibly convenient when shooting on location or traveling light. Overall, I’m pleasantly surprised. While I’ll continue to monitor long-term performance, these Neewer FZ-100 batteries have proven to be a reliable, cost-effective alternative—especially for those building out multi-body kits or looking to travel with backups.

This battery is working perfectly in my A7R iii. No errors, correct display of battery charge, and seem to hold charge very well! I don’t actually have a Sony branded battery to compare it to but seeing that you could almost purchase 3 of these for the price of 1 Sony battery I don’t see any reason to go with the name brand ones. Also very convenient to be able to charge them with usbc. I’d recommend!

I would definitely go with this battery if looking for some extra camera batteries for your Sony. It is one of the best prices for aftermarket batteries on amazon and lasts as long if not longer than the Sony brand batteries. I love how you can charge it with a usb c cable instead of having to bring a separate charging station around with it, makes it very convenient. Overall, I recommend this aftermarket battery over any other.

Always skeptical about claims for off-brand batteries. In many if not most cases, they do not hold a charge as well as their OEM equivalent. To be fair, their lower power life is also offset by their substantially lower price. This battery is one of those rare exceptions where performance is better than advertised. Not only does it last just as long as any of my Canon branded batteries, it also reaches a full charge substantially faster than any of them. I rarely run a battery down all the way to zero on purpose so I cannot say how long it takes to charge when fully drained. However, from around 25% to fully charged has never taken much over an hour at the most. Best of all, it vastly outperformed every camera battery I currently own in what I call the "idiot's torture test" for batteries. I left my Canon R5 turned on intentionally for several days, including when it was not in use. This was to replicate the few times I have done so purely due to my forgetfulness. After 23 days which included taking nearly 200 mechanical shutter shots, it still had 50% charge remaining. No other battery I have ever used in any of my cameras have endured this level of abuse without being dead or nearly dead within half as many days. While I do not recommend doing this with any battery/camera combo, it's good to know that if I happen to forget to turn off my camera when I put it back in it's case, the battery will not be dead when I grab it for a quick shot. My R5 did 'warn' me that I was using a non-Canon battery (as if the camera might self combust or something) but without any issues whatsoever. Every single feature is available and fully functional. As another bonus, I really like the fact that I can charge this battery without needing a special platform or charger. It charges equally well with several different chargers including when I plug it directly into my laptop. Will definitely be buying a couple more of the Neewer batteries!

i use them in both the FX30 and a6700 and dont get any aftermarket battery warnings. usb-c charging is a plus. i actually use these as my primary batteries and save my OEM batteries from heavy use. i was happy enough with them that after losing them in a hotel room while out of town (i think) i ordered the same ones again. no need to go elsewhere
