  • Worth the price!
The one I received appears to be genuine. There seems to be a genuine identification sticker for authenticity. I hope it's real. Assuming yes, the battery functioned properly in the camera as promised. The battery charge and the duration is just as long as promised. I think it is worth the money to pay for a genuine product. If you spend $2,000 or $3,000 on a camera body, would you really skimp $20 and buy an aftermarket battery? Battery is not immune to failure. Lithium can leak, can explode, or cause all kinds of issues. I am not certain a $20 saved is worth a multiple thousands of dollars of camera ruined. I recommend genuine Canon battery. Worth the extra money. Well, let's hope so! ... show more

  • The real thing
This is the real thing and works better than aftermarket ones. My original ones had been in use for six years and got to the point where I charged them at the end of each day of shooting and carried a spare. With this new one, I took over 600 pictures on a recent trip over the course of ten days and most likely would have gotten by without a charge. I no longer needed to carry a spare, and of course charging every few days was still an option to make sure that I had plenty of power. They are a lot more expensive than aftermarket brands, and if you don't mind carrying multiple batteries and swapping, as long as a cheap battery gets you through most of the day, it might be good enough for your purposes. But if you want top quality and no regrets, go with this one. ... show more

  • Expensive but works well
More expensive than 3rd party but works great with the R5 ii

  • Good quality battery
I found it was a bit cheaper to buy on here for sure, but I am so glad it is actually a Canon product, not a knockoff. I have found that the knockoffs are quick to go bad. But this one is lasting really well and charges quickly. I can get this battery to last me about 6 hours on a single charge. If you have a Canon camera, buy this, not a cheaper version, just because it is cheaper, it is better for you and your camera in the long run. ... show more

  • The Canon Store batteries on Amazon are legit for use in the U.S.
When I received this from Amazon (The Canon Store) it appeared to be grey market, as most of the lettering was in Chinese/Japanese, and it had on the back of the package "For P.R.C. only." I saw similar comments to that effect on the Amazon ratings, and returned the package. I promptly got full refund credit from Amazon and re-ordered the LP-E6P directly from Canon. The battery I received from Canon was EXACTLY the same as I ordered through Amazon. So I have now verified that the The Canon Store on Amazon was, in fact, selling official Canon products. Canon's direct price was identical to Amazon's, but I had to pay shipping. I should have kept what I ordered from Amazon, and now realize that Canon itself should use packaging that more clearly represents that this product is not limited for use in the P.R.C. I want to correct my prior review where I criticized The Canon Store posting on Amazon as being deceptive. It is not, I was in error, and the battery they sold me was in fact an official Canon product meant for use in the U.S. The one I purchased directly from Canon works fine, charges fine, and had no software/firmware issues, as would have, I'm sure, the one I purchased through Amazon. I want others to be aware of this when they read some of the one star reviews from other purchasers. ... show more

  • Canon batteries are the best!
I always buy Cannon batteries for my camera. I like to have numerous batteries. They are comparable pricing to stores. Arrived on time.

  • Totally Worth it Even for Your Older Cameras
Even if you’re not planning on eventually upgrading to the R5 II or C50, this battery will make your R6 or R5 last A LOT longer. It even charges on my original LC-E6 (that I got in 2010 with the 7D!!)

  • Pricey, but works better than the after market batteries.
Using aftermarket batteries in the the new Canon cameras comes with warnings, and in some instances, such as my R5II, decreased functionality. So you'll want at least a couple Canon brand batteries to get the maximum function from your camera. I have a few Canon batteries for when I need maximum video capabilities, but if I'm just shooting pictures then I can use an aftermarket battery. Yes, the battery is pricey compared to the aftermarkets, but you do get more from the Canon batteries, both in charge and function. I bought these for my R5II, not sure what other cameras they work in but they work great in mine! ... show more
