We used this as an advent calendar. Split the instructions and pieces into 24 different days. Hands down the most fun the kids (and us) have had as a LEGO advent calendar. Now we will build it annually and it is a great set. Lots of little details that make it worth it. Not all Lego sets are with their asking price, most are too expensive in my opinion. I love this Lego set. I had initially wondered why just one house was the same pricing as a kit with a few buildings in it but soon found out why. The build of this was detailed and solid and it has so many thoughtful things added to it. And Santa actually being able to slide down the chimney was fantastic. I included sets 40499/40571 to build a Christmas scene. The Santa building is very detailed inside, with a full kitchen, table & chairs and a fireplace that Santa can slide down into the living room.
