When I ordered this I was skeptical about the feeling when the product arrived. I thought it would be just all plastic and perhaps slippery. WRONG... The feel is just like the outside grip area of a Canon Camera. It feels amazing and dual batteries and the ability to use AA (cartridge comes with it) was a nice touch. I also purchased a direct power AC pack that fits right in with the pop out door for the power cord. The Portrait (Vertical) buttons for taking pictures is wonderful, no strain on your wrist trying to keep a level picture. Very Impressed with the quality and value.

It matches the finish of the 90D quite well, feels good in the hand, and I actually prefer the feel of the shutter button over the Canon button. I think the other buttons have a cheap feel to them but I wish the Canon shutter button on the 90D felt as tactile as the one on this grip. I love the fact that it allows me to easily feel the 2 step compression allowing for easy setup of shots if focusing on 1 thing and moving the camera slightly before actually clicking the thing to take a pic. I have put around 10k clicks through he camera so far and i would say that about 1/5th of them were using the battery grip controls. I would buy this again if needed. Update: over a year later and i still love this purchase. Drive/ shutter button is still awesome and the rest of the buttons work without complaint. Now i need one for the R6!

Love this grip. I had one for my T5i, and was happy with it. When I upgraded to the 80d I bought this vertical grip and it works and feels perfect. When I sold my T5i I could not find the original battery cover plate, so the new owner is stuck using the verical grip or buying a replacement battery compartment door. Something I really like about this new grip that I dont think they tell you about. It actually has a spot in the vertical grip to store your battery compartment door. Adding an additional battery does add a surprising amount of weight to the camera. I actually only use one battery at a time. The battery for the 80d seems to last forever. I just like the versatility of the vertical grip, and in combination with the flip screen you can get some excellent low level vertical shots. I do always bring an extra battery with me, and if Im not concerned with the weight I will put it in the grip. But if Im walking around for 4+ hours I try to lighten my load as much as possible.

I use this battery grip on a new Canon 90D, and it is perfect. Tight fit, grippy texture matches Canon camera exactly. Looks, and feels like it is OEM. When flipped over to portrait for use of the side buttons they are not as firm as the canon buttons but not bad for the price and usable. Adds weight to the camera but carries two batteries so it's to be expected. Overall this is a great purchase and I would recommend it to any Canon 90D owners.
