This is such a clever solution! These windows can be installed directly onto an exterior wall (OSB and siding) without needing a framed opening. I didn’t even know that was possible, so I was thrilled to find them for my enclosed lean-to, which is very dark at the far end. The quality of the windows makes this work. They’re all metal - even the screen and mesh - so they’re strong, durable, and rigid enough to hold up without a 4x4 frame. While they offer little to no insulation, they’re perfect for sheds or spaces where insulation isn’t a concern. For finished interiors, installation might be trickier since you’d be cutting from the outside without seeing studs, but it’s doable if you’re confident. Installation was straightforward: cut an opening to size (being careful around studs), insert the window, screw it in through the outer flange (screws included), then finish with flashing tape and trim. Very affordable, too - definitely worth it for the amount of light two windows added!

These windows arrived as described and have a good appearance. I was hoping these would be an exact fit for an older structure that has wood windows but the openings are slightly different dimensions. Like I often do, I ordered after guesstimating the size I needed rather than going to actually measure. I may go ahead and make the changes needed to fit these in that structure or I might use them in another project coming up in a few months. Either way they seem to be well built and will fit my needs in some format.

Both of these windows came with metal screens that were not installed properly. The screens were not encased in the frame on one side. Both were exactly the same, leading me to believe it was a mechanical error in the manufacture. It was very obvious and should have been caught on inspection before, or at the time they were packaged. I returned both windows the same day. No issues with return.
