We like the National Geographic brand; we also have the rock tumbler. My 10 year old son got this metal detector for Christmas. He LOVES it, and has taken it in our yard and to a river (where we learned some volcanic rocks have metal in them- so the river was a bust). He hasn’t found anything valuable yet, but has found nails, springs, and a tack pin. :) This is a good way to keep him busy when we’re out adventuring.     • Perfect for what we needed!
Interestingly, we got this as a cheaper alternative to find buried irrigation heads in our yard. It did the job, so now we have fun finding cool things at the beach or in the yard. Good size and quality.
