I bought 4 of these counter stools and they look amazing in my kitchen! Very sturdy and comfy. Assembly was easy - but after all were assembled we noticed one of the chairs had misaligned foot rest. I contacted Nathan James support and Stephanie was super helpful. She quickly addressed the issue and sent me directions to reverse the 'stretchers' (wood pieces connecting front and back of the stool). Easy fix and all done within a very short time same day! These stools are absolutely beautiful and extremely good quality for furniture that you assemble. I would have given 5 stars but the only issue is that the upper part is frayed and pokey so I have had to clip with nail clippers every little piece that sticks out.     • Major flaw with rough sea grass on back of chair ends stick out & snag clothing

I absolutely loved the way these looked. I wanted to keep these. The height was great the cushion was comfortable and color was great. The sea grass back is where it all went wrong. When they wound the sea grass onto the back the ends sticking out everywhere which are very rough and will snag clothing. I would have tried to fix myself if it could have been. They are expensive I thought they would have a little better quality control being Nathan James. I ordered 3 and had to return them. This is a major flaw for an expensive chair wish I could have kept these. They were beautiful. ... show more

I absolutely love the James Beacon Bar Stools. They are exactly what I was looking for, and I was impressed with the quality as I wasn't expecting them to be as sturdy and comfortable as they are. Because the seat cushion is a cream color, I called the manufacturer to ask if there was something I could treat the cushion with, and they said other customers used Scotch Guard which worked well. I haven't tried that yet, but will try a small portion first before I do the whole cushion. The assembly wasn't too bad either. ... show more

    • The cutouts in the back legs are too deep so that prevents the supplied screws from being useful.

The order came in quick, there were 4 chairs total with two per box. Both were packaged well, the chairs look good with sturdy wood. All the hardware needed to put the chairs together was included along with the hex wrench with the only thing that was needed to complete the build was a Philip screwdriver so no problem. The instructions were easy to read and understand. The first two chairs went together with no issues. The second set of chairs went together well until the cross members were installed it was noticed that the cut outs for the cross members from front to back were too deep, so the supplied screws were too short on two contact points. To fix this I just installed two longer screws and that fixed the problem. I was surprised that wood glue wasn't supplied or recommended for the joints on the build. Overall satisfied but hopefully the company will address the depth of the cutouts. ... show more
