  • Exceptional At-Home Coffee and Looks Great
Size: 20 Oz
I’ve used Mueller 20 oz Stainless Steel French press for the last week and I’ve been very pleased with this product and the coffee it produces. Dollar for dollar, when paired with a good burr grinder, I don’t know that I’ll find a better way to make a great cup of coffee! I use the OXO Burr Conical Coffee Grinder set at 14 grind setting (coarse) and Peet’s Major Dickinson whole bean coffee and grind three level coffee scoops of beans for about 12 seconds to produce the grounds. After placing ground coffee in the pre-heated carafe, I add just enough hot (205 degree F) water to cover the grounds, stir and let the grounds “bloom” a bit (30 seconds). Then I add 205 degree water to the press to the fill line, stir a bit, and place the top on the press (with plunger up). I let the coffee brew for four minutes. Then I confirm the arrow on the top of the press is pointing towards the handle and press the plunger slowly. Before I had the burr grinder I did experiment using pre-ground Peet’s drip coffee grounds in this press. I pushed the plunger very slowly and poured from the press carefully. The coffee tasted great and there was very fine grounds in the bottom of the coffee cup—to be expected. I drank the coffee slowly and discarded the last little bit of coffee. I really like the double-wall insulation. I preheat the press with near boiling water first, then heat the water I’ll use to make the coffee. The press works very well and keeps the coffee warm for the second mug. The 20 oz size is good if you want two 8-10 oz mugs of coffee as I do each morning. If you need more coffee consider the larger press by Mueller. The clean-up is easy. Once all the coffee has been poured, I remove the top/plunger and shake the grounds out into the trash can. I then use a small silicon spatula to easily remove the remaining grounds from the carafe and place them in the trash. Then the entire press is washed in soap and water. I unscrew the filter portion and wash each part and then completely dry before reassembly. If you don’t disassemble and clean each filter part, then you run the risk of small grounds and water trapped between the filter parts which can affect the taste of your coffee. The stainless steel construction looks very good and feels very sturdy. I’m very happy with this Mueller French Press. I’ve owned and used several other French presses over the years and this is my favorite and my favorite way of making coffee at home. The only coffee I’ve tasted that has been better was from my sister’s very expensive espresso/coffee barista machine at ~20-30(?) times the cost! Maybe someday I can justify that investment and the space on the counter? In the mean time, the Mueller French Press is creating exceptional coffee! [Additional comparison thoughts: To get the best results from a French press you do need a way to create consistent coarse coffee grinds. The OXO Burr Conical Coffee Grinder is one of the most affordable and high quality grinders I found in my research. You can find it on Amazon. So between the OXO grinder and the Mueller French press I’ve invested about $120 (the grinder was on sale a few days ago!). So comparing the burr grinder and French press together, the high-end espresso/coffee barista machine is about 6-8 times that cost and 4-5 times the volume on the counter.] ... show more

  • Zero-Plastic / Stainless Steel Excellence
Size: 34oz
I am very much in love with this beautifully designed large capacity French press. 100% plastic-free stainless steel body and lid (not an easy feature to find, at any price). Lovely to look at, far more durable, and more easily cleanable than glass models. Stay-cool handle on both the body and lid. Makes absolutely excellent tasting coffee: Comes with 4 stainless steel screens, so you can make your coffee as smooth as you choose. The pot keeps coffee drinkably hot for an hour. Simple, beautiful, effective, and all parts easily separate for thorough cleaning. Who could ask for anything more? ... show more

  • Excellent Stainless Steel French Press — Use It Every Day
Size: 34oz
We use this French press to make tea twice a day, every day, and it has been wonderful. One of the biggest reasons we chose this model was because it’s stainless steel with no plastic parts touching the hot water. It holds temperature really well, feels durable, and has kept up perfectly with consistent daily use. We also really appreciated that it came with two extra mesh filters — such a nice bonus. The 34 oz measurement markings are on the inside rather than the outside, which could be a minor inconvenience for some people, but it hasn’t been a big issue for us. We actually stopped using our Bodum press because of the plastic components, and interestingly, the stainless steel plunger/filter assembly from this one also fits into our old glass container. Overall, this has been a huge upgrade and easy to clean. Pros: Easy to use & clean, sturdy, keeps tea hot, and feels much higher quality than many other presses we’ve tried. Highly, highly recommend! ... show more

  • Two Years Later — This May Be the Last French Press I Ever Buy
Size: 34oz
The first thing I noticed about this French press was that I got a bargain. This thing is quality. I’ve owned several glass French presses over the years, and I always managed to break them eventually. After a while, I actually started becoming a little paranoid about it. Something designed to hold near-boiling liquid close to my hands and body probably shouldn’t be made from something I’ve had break unexpectedly more than once. Suddenly, my glass French press seemed a little dangerous. That’s when I went looking for something like this, and I was fortunate enough to find this one. I’ve owned it for about two years now, and it consistently delivers excellent, great-tasting coffee. Maintenance couldn’t be easier. Most of the time I simply rinse it out, dry it off, and it’s ready to go again. The filter assembly can also be easily disassembled when you want to give everything a thorough cleaning. The construction is solid, the finish inside has held up beautifully, and the stainless-steel exterior still looks practically brand new after two years of regular use. Quality construction, excellent coffee, extremely low maintenance, and no more worrying about shattered glass full of hot coffee. I honestly think this may be the last French press I ever have to buy. Do not hesitate. ... show more

  • Great for the price.
Size: 34oz
Update after a week of use - still love this and feel it a great option for the price. However, I will now amend with two important notes. It does not retain heat very well. I can get it to keep coffee warm for about 90 minutes if prewarm with a pot of hot water prior to brewing. Also, the pour spout is great in terms of no drip, but the close feature is useless. Instead of closing the pot, turning the arrow to the back just creates a slower pour. This is true even when there are no grounds, so it is not a matter of the lid not fully depressing. Still, not an issue other than another way for heat to dissipate. Got it yesterday and already in love after two pots of coffee. My old French press was a Boidin from the 90s and finally got to the point where replacement filters and one replacement caraffe was no longer enough, as more parts were needing replacement from daily wear and tear. I decided it would be nice to get something insulated, so I would no longer have to clean both the press and the carafe I used for brewed coffee with each pot. I also like to add some Splenda and almond milk to my coffee, and this worked fine for adding it after brewing, so I could pour cups of premilked coffee. I rarely take longer than 2 hours to finish a pot, and this kept it warm for the two hours. I really like how easy it is to clean, and the stainless steel has a nice, smooth plunger that went down easily without wiggling. The lid has a rotating top with an arrow to indicate when open - great for easy use. I would love to eventually get a high end French press, but was not ready to spend that much. This was a great price, and an upgrade over my old press. ... show more

  • Well made
Size: 20 Oz
I love my stainless steel French press! I had a glass one before but it cooled off too fast. This double layer steel keeps my coffee hot a lot longer, takes up little space and easy to clean. I got it on sale and almost bought the 34 oz, but I live alone and this is perfect for me. My BIL saw it and was impressed with it and is thinking of getting one for himself and my sister. My counter looks less crowded and I don’t have to worry about the Keurig clogging up anymore. Very pleased with my purchase. ... show more

  • LOVE IT!
Size: 34oz
I bought this 1-liter (34 oz) Mueller French press over six months ago as my first (and so far only) French press coffee maker. I specifically bought this because it was advertised as high-quality. Since then, this has become my favorite way to make coffee. It's held up well during that time, it's easy to clean, and the coffee tastes amazing! Since you get to decide how much water, coffee grounds, water temperature, and brewing time, you can customize exactly how strong you want your coffee! If you've never used a French press before, there's a bit of a learning curve, but the owner's manual does a good job explaining how to start. A few tips that I've learned after using for six months: 1. Everything comes apart for easy cleaning. while this is great for allowing you to keep your French press in the same condition you bought it in, there is potential for losing some small pieces. Be very careful when cleaning. Also, some small pieces could pose a choking hazard if they get in the hands of young children or pets. 2. Don't overtighten any of the screw-on pieces. Tighten just enough to feel secure, but don't tighten beyond that. If you tighten too much, you might have a hard time unscrewing pieces for cleaning. This is especially important for the piece that holds the screens together, since you'll want to rinse the screens after every use. Not long after purchase, I had a scare where I tightened the screens too much and was almost unable to break down for cleaning. However, I was able to carefully unscrew after drying the pieces and wiggling them loose. 3. The lit fits comfortably, but isn't a super tight fit. Meanwhile, the plunger fit snugly. As a result, the plunger isn't likely to go anywhere unless you physically raise or lower it. However, the lid could potentially fall off if knocked over. For safety, keep the French press upright on a sturdy surface while brewing. Also, be aware that if tipped, the lid could leak. However, leakage is only an issue if you're careless. 4. To safely pour, make sure the white arrow is pointed towards the spout. 5. The French press is insulated, so it'll keep warm for hours. However, that also means that it'll continue brewing until you serve. If you let the coffee sit too long, it might get too bitter for your liking. Similarly, you can adjust the brew time to control the strength, with four minutes being suggested. For weaker coffee, maybe only let it brew for two to three minutes. For stronger, consider brewing for five to six minutes. I've accidentally left it for over ten minutes before, and although the coffee was more bitter than usual, I still drank it black! 6. If you've read this far, what are you waiting for? Go ahead and add this to your cart. You won't regret it! ... show more
