Hard to beat this scanner. Portable, light, good screen response when using the touch screen and that scanner attached to the back with the magnet is solid. So solid, it doesn't move from the back. But the carrying case has an ethernet cord, usb to ethernet adapter, OBDII to OBDII and Ethernet (still figuring out that one), charger and cable with adapters for charging. The nice thing is you just start it up and start scanning. It doesn't need any sign in or verification and free updates! The speed on the results is fast and then using it on a 11 year old Subaru, it pulled a ton of dealer codes that were never cleared (they were from a battery disconnect) and was able to take care of those. It then had a section for "modifications/customization" to do some extra fancy tunes for features in the car. Like, A/C auto changes, lighting changes for getting in and out, etc... can imagine it working on German cars well. Can't wait to see how it does for a Jaguar and Mercedes in the coming days. Should be a dream. Bluetooth is nice since it's all wireless. AI Help feature? Nice touch. Thank goodness for the scanning of the sensors. There's tons in there to troubleshoot major issues. I can see this being my new favorite scan tool.

Seems like a nice scanner I researched a lot before I purchased this one. I’m a diy mechanic it seems user friendly which was important to me tool has a nice feel not like a cheap toy and for a low yearly fee I can access Chrysler gateway to work on my daughters 300s I would have bought the pro but can’t justify spending all that$$$. I wanted to but probably wouldn’t use all its features anyway I have lots of learning with this model I have not had the opportunity to use it. I like free lifetime updates

Honestly, this is a pretty comprehensive scanner. For a mechanic or a hobbyist, this is everything you'll need. Updates are free, it's bidirectional, has 35 special functions, and features AI that tells you what the problem is, where to start, gives you possible solutions, and shows tutorials for each function. We installed an engine and transmission in my Ford Escape, and I was able to program the computer to the new transmission using the values configured by this scanner. I highly recommend it. I still have many functions to learn, and the advantage of the tool guide, touchscreen, and all the accessories you need to program, configure, diagnose, and repair any vehicle is fantastic. From today on, I'm a Mucar fanatic.

Right off the top, its great. However it does have an issue that may be a dealbreaker for some. The unit has decent capabilities to many cars and aside from the odd menu structure, its fairly intuitive. It has a solid list of features and the price is reasonable for the abilities. HOWEVER, the key programmer appears to be very limited. My car was "Supported" but there are very obvious problems. For me, the scanner asked for PIN to program the new key and let me know that it would allow "2 or 3 attempts before locking it out". Yes... it literally said "2 or 3" tries. That should have given me pause, in and of itself. But since I didn't have the spare fob with me, I just canceled the process and went to grab the key. When I tried a again, it told me it was locked out. Yeah... lock out before I even put a PIN in once. I waited for a few days and tried again and it let me enter the PIN and then began the programming of the key, but it asked me to take the key out of the car and put in the master key. However doing that required turning off the car and removing the spare. In doing so, it failed. Upon going back in, it again stated the PIN was locked out. However, this time it didn't unlock and free up on its own. It is still locked out to this day. P.S. I'm using it on a Jeep Grand Cherokee and it probably allows support for about 65% of the features. Many advanced features are not supported, but many sensor readout functions work. However, the bi-directional features are the ones that are hit and miss.

I was told, and saw topology on the 892BT. Now I am hearing it will only be available on a pro model which is not currently offered. I can’t seem to reach anyone with answers so I guess it’s going to get returned. Let’s start with the slow start up times. Best not to be in a hurry while using this scanner. Next let’s address the constant lockup issue. This leads to the restart which takes you back to problem one. Maybe you can use it without Internet, but every time I tried, it wanted to be connected. Trying to use AutoAuth definitely requires Internet for each time you try to authenticate. Next is the promise of topology which was put on some 892’s then removed. Tell me again about the lifetime software updates? I was told by tech support to return it and get the “pro” model for topology. I will say customer support is not the worst but can be a bit of a wait. Best not be in a hurry…. Then there is the advertising and marketing. Truth in advertising is not part of this product marketing plan. You can find (which didn’t show until after the purchase) multiple versions of this product. Some come with different modules included in the price. The frustration here is buying the bare unit then finding it cheaper with TPMS modules or a borescope or something else. There is no consistency in their pricing model. Don’t forget the key programming feature. It only works if you buy another device for $150. Some are saying you have to use the Mucar fobs to program keys. I didn’t bother spending money to get clarity on that. AI. Just a google search by any other name. Last, build quality. It seems solid but that screen sucks. Right out of the box it appears to have micro scratches on the screen. You would be wise to get the $30 screen protector which is also available on a different marketing package as an included item. I watched a lot of YouTube University reviews which honestly appear to be paid infomercials by people who are paid to have a positive review. Sadly disappointing.

I am giving this tool a 5 star review based on the price and what it is capable of doing. I set my expectations low when purchasing this scan tool. My primary interest was how they were incorporating AI. I own and operate a very busy 7 bay automotive shop. We have multiple full function scan tools all with current software. I should note that they range from aftermarket to factory diagnostics for domestic manufactures on the laptop. Basically, it was purchased as a parking scan tool. Let's get to the brass tacks. The user interface is the same as the typical Launch, Autel and knock off companies. The unit is compact and actually very easy to read for a smaller display screen. The baud rate is pretty good and on par with big name tools. The internal antenna for wifi i feel could be a bit stronger comparing it to Snap On and the other mentioned scan tools. Not a deal breaker because using a cell phone for a hot spot is pretty normal. Especially when working on vehicles that require gateway access. This unit responds well to that. The bidirectional controls are the same as the Launch/ Autel platform. We have used them and so far, they function properly. Battery life is ok. We it put on the c charger every two days over night. The unit stays powered on with the screen asleep at all times. Some people report the software coverage is limited to 10 years previous. We have used it a few times spanning back to at least 2008 with no issues on Nissan and General Motors. It works very fast on Hyundai/ Kia. I have yet to try and add it to my FCA account for secure gateway vehicles as my bigger scan tools are currently on so I cannot report positive or negative results for that. My technicians that are using it seem to really like it. The young techs used to the UI seem to be very comfortable with it. Older techs that have become more familiar with Ui of the L/A platform are the same. They claim that it's easier to operate. There is absolutely no substantial evidence to support that. Yet I can say I feel the same. Free software updates I really should have mentioned that earlier, However I let that out for a reason. I am not affiliated in any form or fashion with this company or anyone involved. This is just an honest review. I have zero regrets of this purchase and I was quite surprised. As far as the AI. With a strong internet connection, It takes a small amount of time and loads diagnostic information that is rather extensive directly to the tool. We use this information with a grain of salt as we are professionals and use the resources we are accustomed to using. I can report everything I have tested that function for has been correct. And it gives you a lot of resources without logging in to other sites. For the person that may not have those resources this is where you should pay attention. I have been in this industry for 34 years now. Let's just say a lot of things have changed. Evolution is the key.

I’ve been using the MUCAR 892BT for a while now and I can honestly say it exceeded my expectations for the price. I work on cars regularly (both personal and side jobs), and this tool has made diagnostics much easier and faster. First of all, the bidirectional control is a huge plus. Being able to activate components like fuel pumps, fans, injectors, etc. directly from the scanner saves a lot of time when diagnosing issues. Not many tools in this price range offer this level of functionality. The interface is very user-friendly and responsive. The touchscreen works smoothly, and the menus are well organized. Even if you’re not super experienced, it’s easy to navigate. The Bluetooth connection is stable and connects quickly without issues. Vehicle coverage is also impressive. I’ve tested it on multiple brands (including European and Japanese cars), and it worked great. It reads and clears codes fast, shows live data clearly, and the graphing feature is actually useful when tracking sensor behavior. Another thing I liked is the AI-assisted diagnostics. It gives helpful suggestions and saves time when you’re trying to figure out where to start. It’s not perfect, but definitely a nice bonus feature. Battery life is solid and lasts through long diagnostic sessions without needing constant charging. The build quality also feels durable, not cheap like some other scanners. If I had to mention anything negative, it would be that some advanced functions may require updates or subscriptions depending on usage, but that’s pretty common with most modern scan tools. Overall, this is a very powerful tool for the money. Whether you’re a DIYer or doing side work like me, it’s definitely worth it. Highly recommended.
