  • Be advised of the "Do Not Fill Past this Line on the Outside of the Bottle".
Seals very well, a good bit of Insurance when out on the trails.

  • Life saver
Pretty durable, holds just enough to save you in a pinch, kind of a pain to fill at the pump, cap seals it good.

  • No issues yet. Hate the childproof cap.
Okay so obviously safety regulations have come for the MSR fuel bottles we know and love. The bottle itself hasn't changed in the last 30+ years that I know of since I bought my first Whisperlite and fuel bottle. I have now upgraded to a Whisperlite Universal and wanted the biggest fuel bottle possible more for out of the 4x4 camping... The bottle sadly came with the push and turn child safety style cap requiring I spend an additional 50% of the cost to get a replacement standard cap. I am older myself now and have no children in my household, my youngest niece and nor nephew is in their late 20s, and if they want to drink white gas, they will find a way... Another reviewer mentioned the finish running off with spilled fuel. I have not noticed that as of yet. ... show more

  • Very useful
Best thing I bought, I use for gasoline for my scooter and use it on a Coleman's stove, very useful.

  • Last forever if taken care of
These things are great and almost indestructible during normal use and proper maintenance. My original has lasted me 25 years and still works great I just needed an extra for a longer hiking/camping trip that I needed more fuel than one bottle could hold. If you order this do yourself a favor and order extra o rings made for it. I also have a extra lid just in case but I’ve never had to use it. If it starts leaking or you notice the o ring is getting dry rotted or cracked/damaged in any other way just put a new one on and your good to go. To make the o-ring last much longer there is a trick and it works not just on these but almost anything with a rubber o ring that it wouldn’t interfere with the operation. The trick is to put silicone oil on the ring before installing on ever side then as needed I rub a little on it not real often may a couple times a year. It helps it seal better as well as keeps it from dry rotting so quick. They make silicone for this purpose as well as grease silicon however it’s usually more expensive and if you buy 100% silicone oil it’s exactly the same thing. It is just like the pump cup oil that msr recommends using on the rubber cup inside the pump. It has the same effect on your bottle o-ring. Following this advice and being careful the bottle will last a lifetime minus the oring of course. I mentioned this because I found out many people throw the bottle away and buy a new one when it started leaking. I’m sure many ppl that are reading this knows but hopefully it will save some one from throwing a perfectly good fuel bottle away because it needed a small inexpensive rubber ring. Have a great day and happy hiking! ... show more

  • Great for Motorcycle
I've got 2 of these now, the 11oz and the 30oz versions. I like both. The 11oz fits into a small compartment I have, and on my scooter that gets 80mpg, 11oz gets me 6ish miles, plenty to get out of a sticky situation. I later bought the 30oz bottle to store under the seat for a bit more security and range in case I was out in an area where I couldn't get gas for a significant amount of time. The under the seat bottle (the one in this review) is mounted horizontally with just the slightest incline where the lid is facing higher than the back of the bottle. Make no mistake, this is maybe 1-2 degrees off of horizontal. I've had both bottles for a couple thousand miles with no leaks, no smells, no issues. This bottle is mounted in a water bottle holder (one of those plastic varieties that flexes a lot) that is bolted to the underseat area of my scooter (lot of cargo space on scooters). I use a ziptie to keep the bottle cage tight around the fuel bottle, but it's probably not necessary. I refreshed the gas in the 11oz bottle the other day just because it had been 9 months since I put gas into it, and it smelled normal with no ill effects when added to my tank. They do what they need to for my needs. To pour into my tank, I have a water bottle that's been cut off at the bottom and folded up flat (stores better this way). Works well as a funnel and I can even set the fuel bottle in the funnel to avoid any spill or splashing. Overall, very happy and if I ever needed those precious ounces of fuel, I know they will be there and fresh to use. ... show more
