Easy to use and safe to use

Its a great little heater. I have 2 of them with hose adaptors for 20 lb tanks... I have an oil furnace that I use to get to a base temperature but then run the buddy heater in the living room and in the master bedroom. - when running on low it keeps the house 2 to 4 degrees hotter so the oil heater runs alot less. I also keep 3 20 lb tanks so it is an easy exchange when a tank becomes empty. - I do run them with a co monitor nearby but I have never had an alarm go off. - I find them easy to start, feels safer to use than kerosene as it has a low oxygen sensor and a knock over switch. - I also use a stove fan to move the hot air horizontally. - running on low I can get 5 days before tank runs out. Very Reliable Heater for Indoors With CO meter Active

These heaters are GREAT! On my 3rd one. They do have a limited lifespan if used daily. Using a heat powered stove fan to circulate. MUST HAVE a CO meter if used indoors. Mostly safe unless a draft or obstruction causes fluttering. Fluttering = CO production. Otherwise, no worries. Been ruuning them for 6 yrs indoors. ... show more

Great Emergency Heater!

This is the 3rd one I've bought. If you understand the limitations these are great. They will heat a room or tent that's about 144sqft with no problem. At low setting you'll get about 5 hours of heat. They have never failed me and are a joy in those very cold mornings in my tent. However, priming the heater takes quite a few attempts when you first use it, so just be patient. It may take 15-20 attempts at the first lighting. ... show more

Takes forever to get first spark

This heater works great for in our screen tent on cold nights and keeps up warm enough to play card games around the table or while eating dinner. The only problem was that it took FOREVER to get it to ignite the first time when new. I Googled it to see if I was doing something wrong and found a video of a guy having the same problem. It literally took hundreds of tries and a few hours of pushing the ignite button. Really crazy. After the initial start and use, it started up easily. Internet info said it takes that long for the Propane to travel through a long hose but I had it set up with small tank directly to the heater with no hose. I took this heater with me on a wild boar hunt in March in South Carolina. The nights were quite cold but this heater did an excellet job at keeping the stand nice and warm. It definately made the hunt most enjoyable.
