  • Works as it should

Puts out a lot of heat immediately.

  • Works well. Heats a 600 sq ft workshop with no problems.
Size: 75k to 200 BTU/HR
I had a Mr Heater 36000 BTU heater in my shop for a few years, and it couldn't take the chill out of the air. If you were directly in front of it you would be warm, but that's about the only place. I got this one, the 80000 to 200000 BTU heater yesterday. Setup time was quick and easy. I had it fired up and cooking in a few minutes. There was an odor for the first 5 or 10 minutes, but after that I did not notice it any more. It heated the area up quickly at the lowest setting. It is loud, but does not require electricity like my last one did. ... show more

  • Geese, works better than expected...but bought this on an overkill scenario...with some problems
Size: 75k to 200 BTU/HR
Wow, heats up a 20'x20' garage easily. (Colorado & 29 degrees.) 2nd pic was on low setting & newly started. 1st pic is on high heat. After 5 min in on low setting I had to shed the sheep lined sweater. 10 min in had to shut it off & in tee shirt. No joke, no exaggeration. I'm impressed with the heat it puts out. However, the unit would not fire-up out of the box. Had to T/shoot igniter system. Turns out pilot flame would not reach the flame sense sensor. Further turns out the regulator on my 4' tank was defective or not useable for this unit. Used the regulator & hose that came with the unit & it worked "better". Also, turns out the igniter was defective out-of-the-box. Had to t/shoot that also. It would not ignite the pilot after above regulator fix. Worked about 20% to 30% of the time. Had to move sparker further away to create a larger spark. Only then would it work 80%-90% of the time. Obviously a manufacturers quality control issue. If you're not mechanically incline I'd probably suggest something else. Otherwise, pretty impressive for the cost & results. Now the question lingers....how long will it last? I'm 50/50 on this purchase as it stands. I gave 4 stars as I was able to t/shoot & fix it. If it wasn't for that I'd give 0 stars for a DOA unit. ... show more

  • This is one HOT and LOUD heater
Size: 75k to 200 BTU/HR
During winters here we can get down to the minus teens (-15F) and we will typically spend weeks in the plus teens (12F). When it is that cold I dont want to do anything in the garage. I have a 50k-200k forced air tube heater that works good but needs 120V for the fan to run and is LOUD. So I bought this Mr. Heater 80k-200k convection heater, that was described as having significant cosmetic damage. The only thing I saw was that the knob was a little bent and so I simply bent it back. This is one BIG, HOT, and LOUD heater. Perfect for heating up my garage quickly. There is no shutoff valve, amd I dont like that i have to turn it off from the main valves of my three propane tanks located outside the garage. I added a ball valve and extension hose so I can kill it from the inside of the garage. It is tall but can be squished down and then stored at half height. Overall it is a heater with excessive output that can heat up a garage quickly. I usually wear hearing protection in the garage anyway (bluetooth type for music and podcasts) so the noise is ok. It burns a lot of propane vapor so it probably needs multiple big tanks. I havent run the tanks out of vapor yet, but will not be at all surprised when that happens. This heater is nice, big, and hot. ... show more

  • Works incredibly well in a non-insulated 600-700sq ft detatched garage.
Size: 30k 80 BTU/HR
This heater is amazing. No more working in the cold for this guy. This heats up my two car detatched garage (not insulated) in 5-10 minutes to working temperatures. I end up taking my coat off pretty quickly. My garage does have a loft above so the ceilings are lower than standard, but for me, this is an incredible deal. I have a thermometer in the garage, and it has brought it up between 50 and 60 degrees from near freezing temps. No problems lighting, and the base is built well so you don't accidentally tip it somehow. It does use a fair bit of propane, but as to be expected a unit up to 80k BTU. Don't work in the cold anymore...this is a steal. ... show more

  • Warm, but a bit noisy...
Size: 25k BTU/HR
I purchased this to use as a heater on our back deck when the kids come over for a socially-distanced meal. It's a good heater, but not the best choice for this application. Unlike the radiant parabolic heaters, this one has a lot of hot exhaust that goes straight up. It requires 6' of vertical clearance, which meant that the dry wooden roof over our patio could overheat. There was a healthy breeze the evening we used it, so I wasn't particularly concerned, but I wouldn't use it in still air. (YMMV. It's obviously not an issue if you use it on a deck without a roof.) Five stars as a construction site or open air heater, which is it's design purpose. Four for use during a socially-distanced dinner on the back deck, mostly due to inherent noise. One if you have a roof or trellis over your deck, unless you plan on burning the place down. In that case, it's back to a five. ... show more
