  • Excellent solution to back strain (hoping it lasts)
Short story: After 15 years of positive experience with "dynamic seating" solutions, I am a firm subscriber to the idea that, if your back is working well, your chair doesn't need a back. This Mount-it chair/stool does exactly what I need it to do by keeping me perched in a nice and neutral posture. If it lasts three years, it's worth five stars. Long story: I'm "blessed" with slightly less-than-normal spinal curvature and so slumping in a chair gives me backache pretty quickly, despite nearly no excess weight and generally good fitness. Unfortunately, working at a computer for long hours in a chair invites slumping. A physiotherapist solved my problem 15 years ago by asking me to use a fitball instead of a chair. To avoid the inescapable rollaway risk of a fitball (and to stop colleagues from bouncing on it for fun), I upgraded to a Swopper dynamic stool/chair and it worked great for many years. I moved country more than two years ago and decided to ditch the Swopper because I thought I "didn't need it any more." Overconfidence. When I started getting those familiar aches within about six months, I tried to hack the problem with various ergonomic seat cushions/wedges. Recently I decided I really was missing my Swopper but it was so expensive (more than 3x the Mount-it's cost with delivery if I remember right) and bulky that I wondered if someone had come up with something similar that might be lighter and cheaper. Hey, presto, Mount-it! It was inexpensive enough for a punt. The good news is that four days out of the box, I'm loving it. It's precisely the "light Swopper" I imagined it to be. I'm sitting up straight and the back is not hurting. Four stars. I would give five if I were sure it will last three years. This doesn't mean I doubt it will last - it's just that the Swopper was built like a tank and so I am coming from high expectations. A note on comfort. I think it's comfortable *enough* - this means if you keep getting up and moving about and occasionally take a break on the couch (if you're working from home), it's just fine. If you sit on it for hours on end, parts other than your back may not like it. The perfect chair that props you up when you need propping and caresses you when you need pampering hasn't been invented yet. ... show more

  • some may like it, I do not (base keeps falling off due to broken socket
the seat part should be a bit more cupped to help prevent constant feel of slipping off. very difficult to find a comfortable working position Its very difficult to maintain a constant viewing distance from the screen If you wear reading glasses like i do it can be very straining for the eyes. basically its just to have something to lean on .it takes very little of the weight off your feet. undate the bottom keeps falling out when i pick it up ( it damaged my hard wood floor the first time it happened) the small tab inside the connection socket has broken off( and thats just from picking it up to move it) ive never had an office chaire ir gaming chair have the base keep falling off when picked up. Its JUNK ... show more

  • Stand up stool
I like this stool. It’s is somewhat strudy and comfortable. I do a lot is standing at work. This stool is perfect for my stand up desk. My only concern is that the stool does not have a foot rest or step. Otherwise is a good purchase. The seat is cushioned well, much better than my other stool with no cushion. It is somewhat wobbly, I think that is the intent, but when leaning, it is not sturdy. ... show more

  • Good for periodically getting the weight off my feet.
Easy to put together. I like the wobble/tilt and 360 turn. Padding and seat is not for long sitting as it gets hard (I'm 120lbs). A fitness ball for foot-rest works great. Height adjustment easy to use though most of the time I leave it at 27" (I'm 5'3").

  • Not great for big and tall
At 6'3" and 220 lbs, the piston sinks by about 6" any time I sit. Otherwise, it's everything advertised

  • Exactly what I wanted
Extremely easy to assemble. Not the most comfortable to sit on long term, but I got this to go with a standing desk and to be an option to relieve my feet for a short term sit (not long term sitting). I LOVE the function to wobble/move.

  • A little more wobbly than I expected
I bought this because I'm recovering from a back injury. I think it might work when I'm recovered a little more. Currently, its a little more wobbly than I expected.

  • Great chair
Perfect for self makeup application just wish there was a foot rest bar on the bottom for stability but works as expected and needed
