This scanner is actually one of the easier interfaces I’ve used. The operation is quite intuitive, without really needing to consult the manual. It’s easy plug and play and the controls are simple and easy to figure out. Unfortunately, despite my 1995 Subaru Legacy having OBDII capability, this scanner wouldn’t read the fault codes. The scanner material does say that it is for 1996 and newer cars, but I was hoping it’d still work. Not really the fault of the manufacturer- it was clear I was taking a chance. When your check engine light comes on you can use the scanner to identify the problem and determine if you can fix it yourself or go to a shop. Plugs in easily in the scanner port on any car less than twenty-five years old.

This unit works well with my Benz, however after a few months in the trunk of my car, the LCD screen got distorted, whether it was from the Georgia summer heat or the cold of winter, the screen was difficult to read with erroneous lines scattered throughout the screen. It could use a better and probably more modern screen. Overall, a fair value for the money, but I think the unit needs to be stored indoors instead of the vehicle where the weather could (potentially) affect the screen. Of course this defeats my purposed because I would rather have the unit handy anytime my check engine light comes on, and I am not always at home when this happens. ... show more
