I have tested many car and truck batteries in the past with a standard multi meter and believed that if I got a 12 volt readout from the test my battery was still good but the voltage reading is just a portion of the information you really need. This tester goes way beyond a basic multi meter by allowing you to check CCA cold cranking amps and remaining battery life. The tester is easy to operate and comes with a good user manual that includes 4 different types of battery tests including the standard start, charging, and wave view tests. Setup was easy and it also has a handy print function. The unit itself has a quality feel to the case, nice display screen and soft touch buttons. The cables are pliable and the terminal clamps are firm but open smoothly. For the price I paid for this tester I couldn’t be happier.

The MOTOPOWER MP0515A 12V battery tester is an excellent tool for checking battery health. Setup is easy. Simply connect the clamps to the appropriate terminal on the battery and it powers on immediately. The color screen is bright and easy to read and clear menus that make operation intuitive even for a first-time user. I tested it on several batteries ranging from small mower batteries to larger automotive ones (100–2000 CCA range), and the readings were consistent. It quickly shows voltage, CCA, and battery condition. This is a solid tester that is beginner/user friendly. Pleased with the purchase and giving it 5 stars.

This little tester has completely taken the guesswork out of my battery maintenance. I use it on everything from my truck to my deep cycle marine batteries, and it's dead simple to operate. You hook it up, follow the prompts, and in seconds you get a clear, easy-to-understand report on your battery's health. Honestly, knowing the true condition of my boat battery before I head out on the lake is worth every penny. If you own a boat or just want to stop worrying about a surprise dead battery, this is a no-brainer. Only nit I have is it doesn't have perfect english instruction, but that really wasn't an issue.

This battery tester seems to be a very good tool to assess the state of health of a car battery (SOH) as well as it's current ability to start your car (CCA). In addition, you can determine if the alternator is functioning properly. And excellent tool for DIY people

Very easy to use. What I love best is that if you are using this for your personal vehicle it remembers that last CCA you set. I love the memory function of screen captures of the last 10 screen shots. The data transfer of these images can be useful. This unit seem very modern with its user interface and features. I'm am amazed that there are many features yet the device is not complex to use. I like that there is no concern for battery in the device as it is powered by the battery that you are testing. The display is very easy to read. If I were to knock it for one thing it would be that the clips are a bit on the small side and although I've not had a problem connecting it to my battery terminals it would have been easier if they were are little bit larger.
