I put just a tiny bit more force on it and was able to pop it wide open effortlessly. A shame because the lock mechanism is quite decent and really like the look of the box.

Did the job
Neither impressed nor disappointed. Could be a better design with a slight offset to handle. Should have rounded handle edges to keep from cutting into your hands. Small square hole on handle is to attach a 1/2'' ratchet for additional leverage in case some didn't know. Guess you can't expect much for the cost.
