I bought these for my 2002 Honda CRV after we sold my husband's truck. We use my car now for hauling our kayaks out to the lake. Used them a few times and so far they seem to be holding up quite well. They weren't terribly difficult to install. One of my covers was broken when I got it, but I emailed the company and they replaced it for me. They do vibrate a bit when there cold (frosty mornings), but I can live with that. I'd buy them again. Well see how they hold up for the summer. If they fail miserably, I'll be back to update.

I selected these because of the price and made note of one of the other reviews explaining the cross bars can only be installed from the rear and to invert the pieces that go into the channel. Yet I still had tremendous difficulty with the installation. After fighting with the side rails for a while trying to open up the channel somehow, I searched for videos of how to remove the side rail covers. Not sure if I'm even using the right terminology but I finally found something helpful so I'm including it here to help others. As another reviewer pointed out, the cross bars pieces can only be inserted into the groove from the rear of the vehicle. But to open the channel, look for the small holes on the inner side of the existing side rails, then use something to press the pin inside. I used an Allen wrench. While depressing the button, pull towards the rear of the vehicle to slide the cover off. If I have time, I'll come back to this review and add a video. I wish I'd taken some pictures of the process as I was doing it but I was beyond frustrated at the time and just trying not to throw the tools across the garage. Once the back cover slides off, the rest is pretty easy. You will have to unscrew the little bracket pieces that go in the channel because they need to be flipped over to go in correctly. They won't slide in the way they come attached to the bars. This is what the other reviewer meant by inverted. Insert the two brackets on each side rail and then you can replace the cover. It should just snap back into place, but I found one side needed a firm shove to get it to snap back in. Now you can slide your brackets into the desired position and screw the cross bars down onto them. Once installed, they look great and feel sturdy. I'm happy with the purchase now that it's finished, but during the installation I was extremely frustrated. As mentioned I will try to find time to make a short little video about this and how they turned out. Hopefully this will help others, because this really is a great value compared to other options.

Easy process, instructions aren’t 100% use common sense. Also slightly too long for a 2007 needs to be bent up and shoved in slightly to properly attach on both sides

The bolts to not fit a 2006 CRV (2002-2006 gen 2). The are at least a 1/4" or 6mm long. This is not hard to get right. I now either have to go and purchase new hardware or send this back. This is literally a 15 minute job that will now consume a couple hours of my time. Bought new hardware and amazon (not vendor) reimbursed me for it. The plastic covers for the brackets required pressure to remove. However post mounting, I am not confident they will hold. Maybe this is a get what you pay for scenario. To use 1/2 dozen times a year, I hope it works well.

To whom it may concern: Your product has caused me more trouble, labor and effort than the purchase price of the rack. I am requesting a full refund, and in exchange, will provide you with the following feedback, in order that you might provide better service and quality to future customers: 1) You really should proofread your installation instructions before publishing them, and issuing them to consumers. The part(s) that were supposed to be marked as “front” were not identified in any way, shape or form. It took 20 minutes to discern which pieces went where. 2) The tooling is identified as a Torx. However, it most certainly is a metric allan wrench. Getting past that, the tool is useless, as the installer must apply heavy pressure to “special” fasteners over the plastic mounts, in order to join the frame bolts. I had to cut the 90 degree off of the wrench, and use the remaining straight allan piece to chuck up into my drill, in order to apply the necessary pressure (pic attached below) 3) Three of the eight set screws that mount to lower side of the rack, were obviously the wrong allan size for the tooling included. I had to go to a local hardware store, and locate an appropriate allan wrench. 4) One of the “special” fasteners had a bolt broke off inside of it (pic attached below). This indicates to me that a previous customer had difficulty, returned the product, and your lack of quality control has now screwed me also. Congrats, you managed to piss off two consumers with the same kit. Again, I had to make another run to the local hardware store to find a substitute. 5) The fitment of the plastic covers is terrible. The pieces need to snap in place in a positive manner. I had to alter the installation by applying a thick bead of RTV around the perimeter, to keep them from blowing off into the wind. Please feel free to use my suggestions to improve your product (we will call it even, when the refund is processed. Please do not contend my request for a full refund. You are welcome, Concerned Consumer

Seems good so far for the price, I was partly an idiot but the instructions never mention to take the bolt out of the bar and then screw that into the side part. So mine are upside down currently because that’s the only way they would fit. Feel like the instructions shouldn’t be missing a whole step. The front bar was about 2 centimeters longer than what would work for the screws to line up so it took way to long to force it into position and get the screws straight. They look great but have a lot of flex, I’ll update this review on sturdiness once I put a ski rack on. Update: Giving it a 5/5 for functionality, doesn’t look amazing as the rubber seal and mount fit a little different on every piece and are not flush. After reputting it on and buying new bolts realized that’s why I had to force it so much easier install. I put a ski rack on it it works awesome. Holds the weight fine. Noise is pretty minimal, rode in another Crv and his rack was way louder so props on that. For the price a great buy but definitely get new bolts of the same size, ended up comepletely stripping one halfway in and have absolutely no way of getting it out so...

Fits good, bolts a little too long and bottom out on the roof panel, leaving the rails a little loose. Used some split washers on the bolts and gives just enough extra room to snug up nice and tight. And better security on them.

Tightening the bolts with the hex wrenches provided can be somewhat hard. I would recommend using a lubricant and then something (a short piece of narrow tubing or the like) to extend the short end of the hex wrench for better torque. One of the covers did not sit properly after the installation. I added some plastic cement to the holes to help keep it in place.
