I kind of thought I was going to be more in love with these than I am. Overall, they’re very nice. They’re definitely a cut above a lot of the furniture you can buy on Amazon. But there are a few aspects of these that are a little cheaper than I had hoped for. The assembly is a real pain in some aspects. Because of the design of the chairs, some of the angles where the parts have to be assembled are very tight for getting a wrench or certainly a drill into. This means that there is a lot of hand tightening - and re-tightening, because some of the parts basically won’t go together if you’ve tightened all the screws to their full tightness. And each stool has something like 16 bolts, I think. So it’s pretty time-consuming to put them together compared to what I think it should be. That being said, I do really like the material and the cushion, and I absolutely love the large surface area of the seat. These are pretty comfortable to sit on, and feel reasonably sturdy, although if you don’t ultimately get the bolts really tight, there is a little bit of wobble and flex in the chair that doesn’t feel amazing. So some of the metal connections are not as sturdy or secure as I would have hoped. And, in particular, the feet with the levelers are cheap and plastic, and feel like a real letdown, for what the quality of the upper half of this stool feels like. So while I am not disappointed to have bought these, I had hoped that they’d be a little bit higher-end for the price. But overall, I am pleased. These are nice stools with a nice clean, simple and elegant look.
