I have a different, first-generation battery-powered pool cleaner. It works just fine. This one is an upgrade in pretty much every way. The battery does last for 1.5hr+. It does have a proprietary charging cord, so don't plan to use USB-C or something else. That's alright though...I have a place where I will park this to charge each time, so I'll just leave the cord plugged in. It charged up quickly and easily. I like that there were no seals/gasket to deal with on the plug. You'll need to install the wheels and the "scrapers" on the bottom. With the four wheels, this pivots very easily. My previous vacuum had brushes that, after many uses clogged up with gunk and bristles that got bent over. This vacuum has rubber scrapers that don't gunk up easily and can be rotated around if they start to bend in one direction. Also, they include two spare brushes...nice touch! It collects a lot of dirt/sand/debris off the bottom of the pool. Be careful when lift it out of the pool not to tip it...the dirty water can spill out, putting the debris back into the pool. It's easy to avoid, but you do have to pay attention. I really do like this vacuum...I haven't had to get out my hose-based vacuum a single time since getting this.

This Robotic Pool Vacuum is amazing! It works better than I thought it would. It was well packaged and easy to put together. You just pop the wheels in place (different sizes so make sure you check which go where), and clip in a couple brushes. You even get extra brushes with it. Then charge it for around 2 hours. It'll beep and turn green when it's fully charged. Push the power button for 3 seconds and then slowly drop into the pool. It looks like a stingray moving around the bottom of the pool. The directions say it'll move to the side of the pool when it's done or battery is dead. Ours didn't. But they give you a hook that you can attach to your pool pole and you can easily grab it out. Gross what it picks up, but glad it's not in the pool.

This is similar to the aiper pool cleaner we had for a couple years before it went belly up. This one is easy to use, you have to attach the wheels and bottom squeegees. It’s not hard, you just snap them in place. It gets up fine debris. We had to shut the pumps off because the return line was causing the sensor to stall the vacuum. Also, when you go to drain the water out, don’t tip it to the side or all of the fine debris that it picked up will spill out back into your pool. Overall, a nice vacuum that’s able to get the fine/sand/dirt particles and maneuvers around my pool with ease.
