I won’t repeat the glowing marketing language Monstrum Tactical uses to describe this scope, but I will say—they’re not overstating things. I own several Monstrum Tactical scopes, from 1-4x LPVOs to this 5-30x56 long-range model, and the glass on all of them is clear and bright. I have this scope mounted on Savage 110 tactical rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. It zeros accurately—meaning the adjustments translate precisely to point-of-impact changes—and it's held zero reliably after several hundred rounds. The eye box is generous, and even at max magnification, getting a proper sight picture is easy. Are there better scopes out there? Probably. But I haven’t found anything that matches this level of performance anywhere near this price point. ... show more

Fit and finish are well-made. The clicks seem slightly uncertain or timid, but they are trackable and seem to work for the most part. It is an excellent—and I do mean EXCELLENT—value for the money. I mounted this scope on a 20 MOA rail and zeroed it at 100 yards. I then took it with my ballistic data on a progressive range day at 300, 600, 800, and 1,000 yards. Cold bore, first shot in the X at 300, 600, and 800 yards just from dialing predicted elevation from tables and holding over for windage. Every single time, it was a dead-on adjustment. However, when we lined up for 1,000 yards and I dialed in the range, it was WAAAAY high. My spotter had me dialing down 10 minutes from what the ballistics said should have been on target. Because I have a high degree of confidence in that specific rifle and ammo combo, I lost a bit of confidence in the extreme far ranges of adjustment on this optic. That said, we got dialed back on target, and while it didn't match up with the expected elevation changes, it continued to hold zero reliably throughout the day. I shot around 100 rounds off a bipod at various distances, and the scope did not disappoint. Further, the reticle was useful for holdover windage. The large "+" at the center, however, doesn't really give you a lot to work with at intermediate distances like 800 yards and up. I would personally prefer a series of windage dots with a slightly larger center dot instead of the standard crosshair. Mechanically, the scope is pretty decent. The zero stop is useful, but to me, it feels a little squishy, leaving a little play between a 1/4 MOA adjustment. Is it true zero, or is it zero with a 1/4 MOA variance either way? Eh, close enough for my purposes, as it seems to scale consistently—at least up to about 27 minutes in my use case. It will be a while before I can retest and confirm again at distance. The illuminated reticle was useful only once when zeroing, and the lighting configuration was just... weird. I've only turned it on about three times; it is not a big draw for me. Another minor concern was that when the scope was truly mounted, the built-in bubble is not centered. It was consistent however and that's what matters. I opted for a larger bubble ring accessory, which proved to be hugely important at intermediate and higher distances. In summary, for the price I paid, I'm more than tickled. Does it perform like a $3,000.00 ELR-intended scope? Not even close. Does it perform WELL above its price point? Absolutely it does. The manufacturer hasn't lifted the ceiling here, but they ABSOLUTELY raised the floor for budget optics. Now that I know its eccentricities, I will be glad to keep and use this thing for years to come. If you need a budget optic that is capable off the rail to about 30 minutes of elevation, with a bit of experimentation beyond, this is your go-to. All I'm going to do now is update my DOPE card for that loading and drop 10 minutes from the predicted value at the top end. ... show more

Buyer beware! 1) This scope isnt ED glass. I own $50-$100 scopes that have clarity. 2) the parallax adjustment makes clarity worse 3) when you zoom in the cross hairs just cover up the visual field. I just sent mine back for a full refund
