So far I love the Storm S3! The one shot zero feature is absolutely amazing. After bore sight I was on paper in 1 shot and zeroed in 2. My first hunt I got a kill with the very first shot. Couldn’t be happier. I haven’t had the opportunity to play with all the features yet but I’m working on it. The app is fun too, especially being able to record your shots. My only 2 comments this far: 1. On the app, if it gets too far away from scope or disconnects for some reason, it wont reconnect. I just get the spinning arrow. I have to turn it off and back on and do the whole process. 2. Not a huge fan of the incremental zoom. I don’t usually shoot too far away and have only used the 3.5x. Also the 14x is very grainy. I’m taking it on a pig hunt in Georgia in February, so we’ll see how it goes! Overall 5 stars, awesome product, definitely recommend to a friend! ... show more

This unit is incredible for its price. At under 100 yards the cheapest low resolution thermal will work hunting animals the size of coyotes and larger. A true test is at the range during sighting sessions and on smaller targets. The Rix Storm S3 easily picks up targets in challenging conditions. To match the image quality of the S3 you’d have to spend at least $700 more from competing brands. And I have also come to really appreciate the simplicity of the menu.     • Pretty cool
A lot cooler than I thought it was going to be. Once you mess with it for a second it's pretty easy to figure out. Long press on the menu button gets you into the screen where you can sight it in. If you shoot into a board or cardboard and have it in the mode that turns everything red it'll leave a heat imprint for a second where your bullet hits and give you a chance to move your crosshairs to that area. It took a second in my brain because it's the opposite of sighting in a scope. If you have the money I definitely recommend this. They have I think an s1 and S2 I was debating on the S2 but I'm glad I got this it's really high quality and it has a 5-year warranty I think the S2 only has a 3-year warranty. This thermal is excellent, the clarity is amazing. The menu system is played out extremely well making it easy to use. The build is solid. Highly recommend. I did have an issue with the first unit shipped and the manufacturer took care of replacing it very quickly.
