  • Frame and fork: the Mongoose tectonic T1 aluminum frame offers lightweight durability in a dirt jump geometry with horizontal dropout and replaceable hanger, while the rest dirt-t alloy suspension fork offers 100mm of travel to soak up hard landings.
  • Drivetrain: featuring a Sun race 9-speed drivetrain with same af15-d36s 36T alloy crank, threaded 68mm shell, Shimano Altus rd-m2000 derailleur and Shimano Altus sl-2000 shifter, KMC Z99 chain, and mrp G3 chainguide.
  • Brakes and handlebars: Mongoose Mechanical disc brakes with alloy 160mm rotors, exposure double-butted aluminum handlebars with 31. 8mm clamp measure 751mm wide with a 31mm rise, and long brake housing allows for bar-spins straight out of the box.
  • Wheels and tires: exposure double-walled aluminum wheels measure 26mm with 32H at 14g, Kenda small block 26x2. 35 inch tires, and the exposure alloy seat post measures 201mm long. The Mongoose fireball comes ready to be assembled, tools not included.

So to Start off with..this is NOT a mountain bike. This is strictly a Dirt Bike for Jumping and being on slopes. The Seat is angled up and not really meant for sitting, therefore it can not be adjusted or used for regular riding, ever. That said, it is quite a beaut for those Jumps. It is fairly lightweight and has some really decent shock absorption. Assembly was a little iffy and the brakes had to actually be adjusted by a professional bike shop to work properly. The ideal height of a rider is suggested to be anywhere between 5’2-6’2 and myself being 5’6 I can say that it felt very comfortable to ride on and control. It comes almost fully assembled. The only thing that didn’t fit was the back red reflectors. I went out and bought a one that actually lights up. This bike is perfect for my 5’4” height. The wheels are perfect when I land from jumping and also on the dirt trails. It’s even comfortable riding on the road, I just have to get a better cushioned seat if I ride roadside. The handles move quickly and smooth while in the air. I also have a lit up bike flashlight for the front. This would be a great present for any holiday for a bike rider. ... show more

Bottom line is decent bike for the sale price. This was my replacement or exchange, the 1st one shipped with a noticeable scratch in the frame. This one was a little better only having scuff marks on the frame, forks and cranks and a less than perfect weld that is visually not appealing (my OCD). I love the purple color and sale price were the reasons I purchased this bike. The frame material is high quality but if you ride this bike a lot you will want to upgrade some of the components. 1st thing is the none adjustable seat angle will violate you or cause you to slide into the rear tire. The headset, cranks, stem and pedals are cheap and I will be replacing with upgraded parts. The wheels, forks and brakes are adequate although I had to adjust my brakes right out of the box and it looks like I need to have my front rim trued. Tires are good chain and shifting components are good, surprisingly my bike shifts very well right out of the box. To sum up my review I'm a little disappointed with the bike and would not pay full retail for it. If you can get it on sale and are willing to upgrade some components you will have a nice mid level dirt jumper. ... show more

The mongoose fireball mountain bike is a great bike overall, comes very nicely packaged, and almost fully assembled - only need to attach the handlebar, the front wheel, the pedals - and you are done! Rides awesome, the gears are so easy to use, and the handlebar is widespread which I like, the tires are best quality, and the disc brakes function great. Now why the 4 star? Few mishaps in design and execution - which I would not like for the cost of the bike. First, the front brake assembly was not done well out of the box - if you are an expert, you can do it yourself with your usual bike kit, I had to take it to nearby bike store to get it adjusted - out of the box it was not done correct, and the person spent like 10-15 minutes re-tuning and calibrating the front brakes - after which it worked. The seat is cheap - they should give a better seat for this cost of the bike. The reflectors are cheap, and the two rear ones are not even right size for the bike. Nothing that is a showstopper - just some minor annoying nuances - that I am sure they will fix after the feedback they will observe. Have fun, I am really enjoying this bike, and am using it almost on a daily basis for even a quick ride behind the home on the trail. ... show more

This was supposed to be my bike, but the teenager in our family decided it was his. Admittedly, I was going to use it in the neighborhood. Ride it down to the park and back. But this fine bike deserved a better fate. Our teen took it out for some dirt biking, and tried some simple jumps. The bike gets thumbs up from the kid and the old man. The disc brakes are incredible. The gears change without complaint. For a massive looking bike, it is amazing light in weight. And the purple color is fantastic. This is a great bike for anyone, and it is first class as a dirt bike. Highly recommended. ... show more
