  • Use of Brain Required
So, my husband and I just put this thing together. You basically put the outside frame together first and then put the shelves and stuff together and then slide the shelving piece into the frame. As others have mentioned, the instructions are God awful. However, the one person that said it was bad because there were unfinished parts showing to the front, did it wrong. And I say he did it wrong cause we did it wrong first too and were about to freak out and send it back. But, we took a step a back and started looking at the frame. Basically, when we put the frame together we had unfinished sides showing on the front and the back of the frame. We were confounded and thought the manufacturer had not drilled the holes right in the pieces. The instructions do not have any indication on them about unfinished sides vs. finished sides... so, you have to use your brain to figure out which piece goes where. It was a lot easier to figure out where we went wrong once we had the whole frame together. We just kinda stared at it for a few minutes and then a light bulb went off that we had four of the frame pieces on the wrong sides. So, with a little switching around we finally got all the finished sides right where they needed to be. It was only the frame we had problems figuring out. The rest of the parts were easy. It is really pretty and once it was all put together I was really glad we didn't give up. It is very sturdy and not wobbly at all. We were a litle skeptical when we were doing the frame cause we had one side that seemed a bit loose but once everything was together it tightened up. Also, when trying to put the shelving unit into the frame we had to loosen the bottom frame pieces to be able to slide it in. If we hadn't done that it wouldn't have gone in. It is also much easier to screw the shelving unit into the frame if you put it on its side. All in all, we are plesantly surprised and really like the look of it. ... show more

  • Definitely worth the effort
This is simply a beautiful piece. It looks far more expensive than it actually is. I am so glad I decided to purchase it. Because the reviews from other customers helped me so much, I decided to leave one for others. Pros: It is beautiful, it looks expensive, its big enough but definitely a space saver. There is plenty of room for liquor, wine, glasses, martini shakers and a lovely little drawer for wine openers and things like that. If you have tall bottles, though, they will have to go on the top shelf. The piece fits well in my dining room and just looks good. I am ecstatic that I purchased it. Cons: It is some kind of work putting this thing together. The directions consist of a million pictures and in some instances they become a little hazy. However, if you PAY CLOSE ATTENTION and TAKE YOUR TIME, you'll get it done correctly. But I don't believe there is any way to get it done quickly. When putting it together, pay special attention to which pieces you are connecting - the numbers on the parts are very important and you'll want to do it exactly as the pictures indicate. Even though the pieces will fit in more than one way, there is only one right way. DON'T FORGET PIECE # 20! Its easy to look over it in the directions. Packaging: The packaging is superior. It is shrink wrapped, bubble wrapped, boxed and protected by large pieces of foam. It is highly unlikely that the package will arrive damaged. It is the most well packaged product I have every purchased. Overall, I am more than pleased with this product. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that there is room for improvement in the directions for assembly area. But once you get it all set up, it is worth the effort! If you like it, BUY IT. You will not be disappointed! ... show more

  • TAKES ALOT
I’m giving it 4 starts because I wished it was more detailed in words how to assemble it. It came with instructions where you only had the picture and the numbers to match it to & the picture was not the easiest thing to read. However, once you started to get the hang of it, it wasn’t so hard to assemble. There are A LOT of pieces so you have to make sure you use the right ones labeled in the picture. Took me almost 4 hours to assemble. All in all after all the hard work it looks just as beautiful as it does in the photo. I recommend laying out all of the pieces and then starting from there. Every piece of wood is numbered so when the picture says grab 14 you don’t have to guess which one is 14. ... show more

  • Not for the easily distracted...
This piece fit exactly what we were looking for at a reasonable price, and it does look very nice in our dining area. I love how much storage space it offers for all your bar needs. My only complains about the design is that the glass rack is too small to hold most of our wine glasses (we store them in the space anyway, they're just not hanging) and there is no lip on the middle shelf to keep items from sliding or falling. Also, as MANY have noted, the construction of this piece is extremely complicated, and if you do it wrong you wind up with visible unfinished wood. We had to attach then remove a bunch of pieces to avoid this, and it's pretty difficult to spatially visualize how the instructions should transfer to actual construction. The guide recommends two adults for construction, we had three (two of which have built a LOT of "do it yourself" furniture) and I would say it took about five hours total. Now that it's put together I love it and am glad we did it, but there were definitely a few times during the process that I wanted to throw in the towel. So, if you're not good with stuff like this, I wouldn't recommend it. ... show more

  • Good Value For The Price
I wanted a bar but it needed to be the right size and fit in a small space so this was perfect. The reviews regarding the assembly instructions are pretty accurate - it took about 3 1/2 hours. The pieces are all marked with letters and you have to use some common sense in spots as the instructions arent always clear but it's not as bad as some people were making it out to be. I use the top shelf for liquor bottles - they're too tall to fit on the middle shelves. Overall, it fits my needs and matches my furniture and I'm pleased with it. ... show more
