The best were some Dr Scholls I got on clearance at a local store, I wish I had bought more! They only lasted 6 months before needing glue to keep them together :(. I fly for a living, to trekking through airports and in the sky, I put miles upon miles on my dress shoes. These aren't bad. I would give them a 4.5 if it were possible. I keep them in my car when I'm not working, so they sit in the heat of summer and cold of winter. I have had them about 4 months now, and they don't seem to be falling apart, so that's good. We first got these in black. My father liked them so much we decided to get them in brown as well a few months later. The stitching in both pairs is good. The materials seem to be of high quality. He found both pairs to be comfortable right out of the box. The inside looks well made and comfortable so it’s not a wonder he finds them so nice to wear. As he is elderly I was particularly glad that the bottom has a nice tread for a dress shoe. One of the reasons we chose these is he needs a wide shoe and these came in his size. I have 300 dollar shoes and I am really mad at AE for overcharging for shoes. One pair of 200 dollar AE shoes needs new heal rubber pieces that I cannot buy! Sure they will replace them and clean up the shoes for over 100 dollars. LOL!!! My stupid fault for wasting money. I'm just going to get shoes like these and throw them away a year or 2 later. The shoe is a bit bigger than listed. Order a 10.5 but it’s longer than that so it made it tight around the ball and toe area. Other than that it’s a nice shoe.

I'm pretty biased to Clarkes shoes but I enjoy wearing this shoe. The heel is quite high and makes me taller while wearing them (only problem is I twisted my ankle once when I now started wearing them). They occasionally get scuffed, but some leather oil works wonders. They fit as expected and the elastic at the ankle part is very interesting. The inserts are quite comfortable by my mediocre standards, but they can't be changed as they are stuck to the shoe and not removable (unless you would like to rip them out by force). ... show more

I have a wide foot and these are super comfortable. The soles have a softness. Just bought cole Haans for $400 that look great but are not nearly as comfortable especially when walking a few blocks downtown. Thumbs up👍
