like the look of the lamp, not very sturdy (lamp shade) but I don't plan on abusing it and love just reaching over my head to turn it on.

The lamp was well packaged and easy to put together. The base is heavy(!) which gives it good stability. We weren't sure at first where the lampshade was, but the sides of it were rolled up, and it simply snaps onto a frame. Very clever, and looks good! As you click through the different lights, you can see a difference in the color of the light. It is not a 3 way bulb, as we have had in the past, but simply different shades of light--bright, daylight, soft....that kind of thing. ... show more

Not the least expensive but close, so for the money this is a great floor lamp. The lamp itself is just a good or better than most. The shade (really smart) you put together yourself, super simple, looks a bit different when light is on than an already made shade, but not a deal breaker at all.     • Good value, needs a few improvements
PROS: Goes well with many decorative schemes, especially mid-century. Has good brightness options, 3 different ones, from cozy warm light to bright, clear task lighting, all on one bulb, which is included Pull chain gives a nice click and is very responsive. Fairly easy to put together. Weighted base weighs about 8 pounds, not too heavy unlike some, dislike the weighted bases, but keeps lamp from tipping. CONS: shade comes rolled like a poster. You have to put this together yourself. I found it not hard but annoying, and I did dent the shade just a bit trying to snap it onto the support rings. Not a big deal as it is not hugely noticeable,but nonetheless, an extra box containing a proper round drum shade would have been nice. If shade was preformed, that would raise the price of the lamp and added packaging material (environmental concerns) so that must be considered and accept the sacrifice, or not. The cord is very ugly, no refinement, just heavy black cord, but didn’t matter too much to me as my plan for this lamp will be a corner where it won’t be visible. All in all, it was a good value for me as I have often paid into the hundreds for floor lamps that wind up short on performance and looks. I’m reasonably satisfied. ... show more
