Features

  • 7inch (ID) x 12inch(H) -- split logs up to 6-1/2-inches in diameter because the inner diameter of safety ring is 7inch. Anything bigger needs an axe to depart it first or it will get stuck in the top ring.
  • CUT LIKE A BUTTER KNIFE -- the blade is made of HRC30 45# steel with a sharpened edge, solid material with the reverse wedge on the side which means splits wood effectively using less force than a standard axe, made it easier than using an ax or hatchet.
  • BUILT LIKE A TANK -- the main body is made of rock-solid carbon steel with a paint-coated rust-resistance surface, one piece welded with no screws to come loose. With the ring guard design, the hammer never hits the blade or your feet and keeps things contained safely so pieces parts don't fly off flying into your shins.
  • WEIGHT OF 9lb MAKES IT STABLE -- never worried about tipping over, it weighs up to 9 pounds. But we still recommend mounting it on a solid surface that's why it comes with bolt holes for permanent mounting.
  • ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS -- this tool works best on straight-grained and adequately dried logs. Fresh-cut wet logs will take 10-15 strikes to split is a bit of a challenge.

  • Wood splitting
This is awesome with a 3-4 lbs brass mall. I buy split wood in bundles already, but this is nice to split down some more, burn in a SST BONS STOVE, similar to SOLO.

  • Well-Made—Convenient Size—Worked as Promised.
This MOFEEZ Log Splitter for making kindling works well. Fasten it to a solid, sturdy chopping log and pound away. This is the perfect tool if you need kindling and want an efficient way to make it. I find it excellent for splitting wood for my rocket stove. Here’s what I like: • Solid high-carbon steel with precision welding makes for a strong assembly. • Powder coated for corrosion resistance. • The blade is low enough to keep the hammer from striking it. • If wood is cut long enough, it contains split wood pieces, preventing kindling from flying away from the splitter, possibly causing injuries. • The wedges on the blade's sides cause the wood to split with less effort. • Bolt holes on the base to secure it to a splitting log. • The blade comes adequately sharpened. Here’s what I don’t like: o Doesn’t work well with green wood. The wood should be adequately seasoned. o Twisted and knotted grain wood is challenging to split. Conclusion: In all fairness, I should mention that the two things on my “don’t like” list are not avoidable with any splitter of this type. It’s just the characteristic of that kind of wood. For best results and safety reasons, you should select logs with straight grain. That way, you’ll not only be kind to your body but to the splitter as well. While this item didn’t exceed my expectations, it certainly met them. A product that meets my expectations gets a four-star review. I recommend this product. I would purchase another one if I needed it. ... show more

  • 7" is good for smaller pieces
I got the 7" wacker without hammer because I have a good mallet. I wish I had the 10" though. The 7" is limited in the length of logs it can split. The first log I put in was too long... it split halfway, and I had to yank it out and turn it over. For smaller pieces, this works great. It's strong enough and the blade is sharp enough for making kindling. It appears to be powder coated, so I don't think I'll have trouble with rust. ... show more

  • Safer approach to splitting but still takes a lot of effort
The media could not be loaded. I do a lot of manual log splitting and was looking to make the job easier without breaking the bank. The log splitter helps with this job but there is still a lot more effort than I expected. Based on other reviews, it said it made it much easier, but the blade didn't add too much to the effort. In the video, I have a full sledge hammer and still have to hit it multiple times pretty hard to split them. The benefit was that this approach seemed safer than what I was doing before. There is no bounce back if you strike the log wrong. I will keep using this just for that reason alone. Another benefit was that I hit the side of housing many times with my hammer and no dents. It took several hard shots and withstood it. One note if you buy this, there is no instructions. I used two a 5/16th by 3in bolts to secure it to the log. (plus some washers). ... show more

  • Lightweight and sturdy
The media could not be loaded. Easy to use and transport for extra safe cutting of small kindling. It didn’t appear to be cast iron, but more like a powder coated steal. The longevity and quality will be decided over time, but it made quick work of some dry wood pieces. I’ve been wanting one of these for a while so this fits my needs. ... show more

  • Very Heavy Duty
We took this with us on a camping trip this weekend and it was a lifesaver when it came to making kindling. Our outfitter provides wood, but there wasn't any little stuff left. This splitter is very easy to use and worked exactly as it should. We did run into 2 problems - some of our wood was too long and we had to pry it back off the splitter and turn it over; and we had 1 piece that was narrow enough that it got stuck between the side wedges. These things could have both been avoided with a bit more forethought on my part, so it's no fault of the splitter itself. All-in-all, it was a great purchase and will likely go with us on all camping trips from now on. That said, it is quite heavy so it's nothing I'd want to hike with. ... show more

  • Impressive. Going to take this on my next camping trip.
Box arrived in poor condition, the box was torn open, the item exposed, and heavy scratches evident. Damage aside, This is a pretty fun gizmo for having on a camping trip, or just if you want to beat on something to improve your frame of mind. The premise is simple. Set the unit on the ground, add a log 7" or smaller. grab a hammer (I used an 8# mallet!) and get to work. Pro tips: 1. When placing log, tap the bottom of the log into the blade before going turbo on it. 2. Once log is firmly connected to the blade, tap on one side or the other instead of the center. This will split the logs much quicker. 3. Logs in the 7" range can be split and resplit multiple times, all the way down to kindling if required. We had multiple family members split some wood, and everyone had a productive time. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Exactly what I needed
A couple of years ago I took down some dying birch trees from my backyard and set the pieces to dry for future fires. But of course they weren't split, so they also werent burning easily. This is exactly what I needed. The logs split easily now, and burning them is great. I'm a big fan of this splitter. ... show more
