These grab bars are pretty AND practical. Remodeled my guest bath and didn't want it to look geriatric. Very well made. Used 18" in the shower and 12" on the wall outside of the sliding shower door. You won't be disappointed.

Very heavy and sturdy. Not the easiest to install per my Handyman. Screws go into one piece into the wall and then the cover plate goes over that which attaches with very tiny screws and a tiny Allen wrench which was difficult to maneuver. The bar is much thicker than the picture appeared to me, (thought they’d be similar to towel bars) but I see the dimensions are accurately listed. I’d recommend, just be aware, they may not be as easy as the generic grab bars you buy at the hardware store and if you’re paying someone to install, it may take awhile. ... show more

When having our bathroom renovated, my husband and I decided to have 3 of these grab bars installed - one in the shower, one just outside the shower door, and one by the "throne." Even though we are not elderly, we both have orthopedic and balance issues (and he will shortly have another joint replacement surgery)..and we're already putting these to good use! I ordered this style because it looks classy, has matching accessories and coordinates nicely with the faucets we chose. They are very attractive and well-made - even our friend who installed them was impressed by their sturdiness (which is exactly what one wants in a grab bar). We were concerned grab bars would make our new bathroom look like a hospital room, but these are actually quite pretty. They are double the circumference of a typical towel bar, so I think they look more expensive, more fashionable, and are certainly more durable. I even purchased an extra to use in a part of the bathroom where a "grab bar" is not needed, because makes a great towel bar. Bought this item for a neighbor to install as a grab bar on the wall adjacent to two steps between their kitchen and family room. The neighbor could not have been happier with the utility and good looks of the bar. Installation was very easy using a drill, a power driver and the supplied screws. This is the second one I’ve installed. The first was earlier in the year for my in-laws. For them I mounted a 12-inch bar vertically on one side of the stairway and a 36-inch bar diagonally (as a banister) for the two steps between their home’s entry way and hallway. ... show more
