  • Sounds very good for the $$$
Style: 1000 Watt Pattern Name: Amplifier
Nice unit! Simple and easy to hook up with lots of options for input. I have each channel going into 8 ohms. It's not real loud but my input source (Behringer mixer) isn't cranked way up either, so that's a factor. I really don't need a lot of volume anyway. The sound is clean and pretty flat without a lot of inherent bass or treble. If you wanted to boost those you could do it at the source. Contrary to what others have posted the fans are just about silent...so no problems there. The controls have a good feel to them and the unit appears to be well made. Delivery was one day earlier than originally quoted and the packaging was in perfect condition. ... show more

  • Simply Awesome...
Style: 1000 Watt Pattern Name: Amplifier
I read thoroughly the various reviews. I completely disagree with criticisms about loud fans, in addition to a couple of nonsensical bipolar rants. Here's my review: You can't get a better bang for your bucks with this amp. It rocks! Everything about it is great in my book. The fans loud? Good lord, I have no idea why some people say that. Mine are quiet, and I'm using this amp to replace a retired old Parasound, (which was an amazing amp in itself, but it's finally dying). It's now serving as part of my DAW gear, which doesn't need to be dance club level loud. It's to record and track original music. No, I don't use it for deejaying, (they like everything loud and boomy). Maybe that's why they're complaining? Anyway, It's slightly louder than my Parasound with the addition of bridging and a crossover, (another novelty for deejay use). The amp drives my studio monitor speakers clean. And the instructions it came with are a standard of modern industry, (and I clearly understood them). A lot of the internal components are made in Japan, and as far as I can tell, it was constructed in China. But with all QC, engineering and design in the USA. Bottom line....simply awesome! ... show more

  • What a great company! Seriously!
Style: 1000 Watt Pattern Name: Amplifier
I have been replacing my studio equipment as needed over the years with many Rockville products. I can truly say from personal experience that the Rockville speakers, rack effects, amps and more are as good as JBL's, Peavey's and Behringer's I've replaced with Rockville. I was skeptical at first but bought large passive PA speakers to test. Took me a moment to get them tuned correctly. But once I figured out their response they matched the very expensive ones they replaced. And for a fraction of the cost. Eventually I had to replace some of my older equipment like: dual 31 band eq racks, 32 band power mixers, dual channel power amps, monitors, powered bass sub woofers and more. Haven't been disappointed yet. Plus the cost has been lower than when I bought the name brand equipment 10-20 yrs ago! That's all great but, what really won me over was a moment when I had to deal with customer service. I don't think the problem was their fault. But they made sure to get me taken care of. I can't say enough good things about the products and the company! Thank you. ... show more

  • Solid Amp
Style: 1000 Watt Pattern Name: Amplifier
The product arrived quicker than expected and in great condition. Worked right out of the box. Easy setup. Doesn't seem as loud as I would expect a 500W RMS amp to sound, but it should do the job for me. It is noisy, but will be used as an amp for a High School Athletic Field PA. We'll see how well it holds up. ... show more

  • ROCKVILLE IS lazy GARBAGE.
Style: 1000 Watt Pattern Name: Amplifier
Cheaply made product, not worth a penny! Returned. TRASH, waste of time and money. Been taking OVER a month for the return of their messed up PAs that were shipped in torn boxes and sounded like complete crap. They keep making all kinds of excuses- sent 1 label instead of 3, now it’s some type of A-Z claim they want canceled, which was never filed. LAME!!! ... show more

  • Don't buy Rockville . Save and buy quality. Crown, JBL, etc.If u buy garbage, GET THE XTRA INSURANCE!
Style: 1000 Watt Pattern Name: Amplifier
Shipped fast. Excellent packing job. Few major problems i need to state so hopefully the next buyer gets some help. First the instruction manual is beyond terrible. I bought this thinking it had a 150hz crossover. Doesnt work on bridged mono, Havent tried hooking it up the retarded way they say to to get it to work. I should have known vague instructions only mean one thing. Amp doesnt function the way a normal person with pro audio experience would expect it to.Granted it is cheap gear I get that. I needed a crossover and I assumed this thing had what I needed, because of budget limits I passed on the preamp and crossover, and a used Crown amp.. Mistake on my part. So two days before a gig I dont have my sub working. Not blaming Rockville for that, their piss poor excuse for an instruction manual/crossover IS their fault. Also the fans do a great job but are super loud. Plan on placing the amp as far away from you as possible. They have the audacity to claim they are low noise fans. Another red flag. All in all its ok for the money if you run 3 ways, but plan on buying a hot preamp and subwoofer crossover, which they could state in the ad/manual. Even if the xover worked, 150Hz is on the high side and muddys up subwoofers. They just conveniently left that out(or the translator guy in China needs a new job). How hard can it be to change up a manual. They're too cheap. Red flag. So what else are they cuttin corners on. Once again I realize this is cheap entry level pro audio. But I expect an amp that claims to have a crossover to work in all modes. Maybe its defective, 150 HZ is a crappy setting anyhooo. I have gigs to do and buyin a crossover is much easier than returning it. Major stress I didn't need guys! I have a 3 year replacement, so Im gonna run this sucker ragged! Bottom line, if you need a cheap backup for full range passive speakers, itll do. Not a good subwoofer amp, despite their claims. After you add in a preamp, crossover , cables, you are better off buying a used Crown and knowing what to expect. If you buy anything from Rockville, definitely get the insurance. Honestly can't trust this company to deliver on the hype. I ordered a 18" sub as well, the box looked like it fell out of an airplane and rolled 5 miles, the grill was caved in too. I guess repeat customers isnt part of their business plan. I'd be one colossal idiot to reorder after this. Sorry I had to be so blunt but it was a HUGE LETDOWN.
