  • Pretty much Exactly what I was looking for
Color: Black Mesh
First off my body type: Male 5' 6" 130lbs 25yrs old I've been looking to replace a hand me down, high back, 'leather' office chair that I was not liking for a number of reasons. The leather is too cold in the winter and sticky in the summer. The arms didn't move and the back didn't really recline in any way at all. This chair is pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Mesh, breathable back, so back sweat won't get sticky, it's also soft (yet sturdy) and a bit stretchy for comfort. The seat cushion is firm but soft enough for comfort, the arm rests move up so I can play guitar in my chair as well as any other reason you'd need more arm space, and the chair reclines well. The wheels move well, the chair swivels smoothly and rises and lowers well. The lowest setting for the seat is a perfect height for someone of my size, the seat fits well, arm rests are perfect height, and the chair isn't a huge bulky piece of furniture in my somewhat small room. I've had this for 2weeks and so far don't really have the impression that the back may break off (as it's bolted to the seat with 4 bolts and a solid metal piece that's being bolted) and the arm rests are sturdy enough. I haven't been leaning back extremely far or doing dips on my arm rests so I assume they should hold well if the chair is used properly. The only little complaint I have as far as comfort is that the mesh on the seat and arm rests are a bit rough. Maybe not so much the fabric itself but probably due to the large holes in the weaving causing friction. Setup was practically a joke. Soo easy. Literally took me 15min including organizing the 8bolts/washers, etc. There are 4 steps in the instructions, I don't believe any level headed person would have any trouble assembling this chair. A lot of the pieces are made of very hard/rugged plastic and the Silver piece connecting the back to the seat is solid metal. The chair is actually pretty heavy considering how light it looks. Overall good buy especially for the price on Amazon...although I didn't realize how much office chairs cost nowadays. ... show more

  • Great chair for the price
Color: Black Mesh
Overall I'm very pleased with this chair. It's just what I expected and seems to be of good quality for the price. I'm a PhD student and I spend about ten hours a day in my chair, reading and writing and doing other work at my desk. This chair has improved my comfort level immensely. I have already rolled away my old faux-leather executive chair because it doesn't hold a candle to this one in comfort or features. Below I've summarized the high points and low points of this chair to help you determine if it's right for you. The Good: * It seems to be pretty good quality. The parts are all plastic but they're heavy-duty with a minimal number of working parts. * It has great lumbar support. This is essential for me. A lot of so-called "ergonomic" chairs put all the emphasis on the chair's recline tension or seat cushion and leave a lot to be desire where lumbar support is concerned. This one (at least for me) has just the right amount of lumbar support without feeling awkward. Even when I lean forward to hunch over a book, or sit upright to type a paragraph, the back rest always seems to be there giving me a little extra support. * The arm rests sit at the proper height. As my chair height set, the arm rests are just below the level of the desk, which means that they are out of the way when I'm working but just right when I need something under my arm while using the mouse or writing on the desk. * The arm rests flip up - a rare feature on a chair of this price. This allows me to roll the chair all the way under my desk if needed. It also comes in handy when I'm doing some task that requires my arms to be free and not hemmed in by arm rests. * The chair materials are nice. Both the seat cushion and the armrests are a kind of mesh material laid over a foam pad. Already it has made a big difference in keeping my arms and butt from getting sweaty during long sessions at my desk (extra important in the Texas heat). The pad on the seat seems to be a little softer than what's found on other ergonomic chairs, so you probably won't find any problems there. Finally, the backrest itself is made of a very thin mesh material that seems comfortable and so-far durable. You'll especially like it if you tend to get a sweat back when sitting in a chair, since it breathes very well. It does have a little give, however. This has made me wonder if a heavier person (I weigh 150 pounds) might need something more substantial to provide proper support, but for most it's probably fine. I'll report back on the long-term durability of the materials if necessary. * The wheels are just right. It's not run-away smooth but the wheels roll freely. * All the adjustments - well, all three - are simple and easy to use. The adjustments allow you to tilt the recline feature, lock the backrest at whatever position, and adjust seat height. For great adjustability, you might want to splurge for a high-end ergonomic chair. This chair works for me so it's not a problem. The Bad: * The backrest does not recline very far. It's just about right for me when I want to lean back and read a book, but I definitely know people who would find the recline too limited for their taste. * EDIT: IN WRITING THIS REVIEW, I DISCOVERED THAT THERE'S A RECLINE-TENSION KNOB UNDER THE SEAT. A LITTLE TWISTING AND IT WAS JUST RIGHT FOR ME. I'VE LEFT MY ORIGINAL COMMENT FOR CONTEXT: "The tension in the backrest is not as high as in the high-end ergonomic chairs I've used. In this chair, if I lean back, it tilts to its furthest position, and I weight only 150 pounds. The tension is pretty soft. This basically requires that I keep the backrest locked at all times, which works for me, since I like an upright chair, but some people may like to more easily transition between sitting upright and leaning back, without having to pull a lever every time." * The armrests are probably a little too weak to put full weight on them every time you stand up and sit down. The chair flexes when I put even half my weight on the armrests. Maybe none of this is a problem, but it's important to note that this chair is probably not strong enough to support a heavy person using it for support when standing up and sitting down. * The assembly instructions are almost useless but - fortunately - assembly itself is pretty intuitive. The chair was shipped with one sheet of paper that contained a few diagrams (and a confusing set of numbers/letters associated with the parts) but really no written description. It's not very hard to figure out but you need to have a least a small measure of common sense to put it together. * Finally, it seems to be slightly smaller than some other ergonomic chairs I've seen. It's probably good up to 200 or maybe slightly over, but larger people may want to try out a few stores in person before making a purchase online. This sort of thing should never be held against a product in a review, since the product dimensions are stated clearly in the description. If you think you may face problems with size, try out some chairs in person, see if they work for you, and don't complain if you buy the wrong size. ... show more

  • OK Chair, Shoddy Quality
Color: Black Mesh
I got this chair because I'm a big person and it claimed to support my weight (350 lbs). It took a while to put together, about half an hour. It wasn't terribly difficult. It was heavy. The wheels just go push the base and don't click in, so I"m concerned that if I lift the chair they may fall out at some point in the future. What I don't like is that the material itself is very rough. You definitely do not want to be sitting on this with your bare skin (like in shorts). If you're a big person then the seat may seem like it's well-padded but if you're sitting on it for more than an hour it becomes quite uncomfortable. The padding get squished flat very quickly. Even with the arm pads, I'd prefer to be wearing long sleeves than have the arm pads touching my skin. The material almost feels like your skin is on sandpaper. Not to mention, the arm pads are coming apart from the arms! There's no way to fix this, either. The back of the arm pads is lifting up, and this shouldn't be happening. This is very poor quality on the part of the manufacturer, and I've only had the chair for a month! Another thing is that When the chair is not locked into a more forward position, it almost feels like it will topple over going backward. I bought this chair because it was on a deal and met all of my needs but it looks like it's not going to last very long. It's unfortunate because I liked the style and it's difficult to find furniture that's rated for us larger folk.🤬 ... show more
