We decided to try this for our front door entry light to update an outdated look. We wanted something that cast good light downward. And we wanted something that didn't have an open box that wasps would try to nest in all the time (like the old carriage style we were replacing). So far we like the light. Having two downward lamps is great as it brightens up the front entry nicely. Plus, it looks cool. Installing it was fairly easy. Everything (except a ground screw) was included in the box. Because we have angled siding, we had to build a block so it wouldn't wobble. Worked out easily. The lamp itself is large, but not massive, which is ideal for us. The original lamp had been mounted quite high and away from the the doorway for some strange reason. Fortunately, the way this lamp is designed works perfectly in this spot. And there's no place for angry hornets to build a nest inside (that we can tell). Would choose this again.     • Nice light, well made and easy to install
We've been slowly updating our lights on the exterior of our home from some weird 90's modern ones to newer ones. This one was installed on our side porch and puts out more light than what I was envisioning which is great. Although it's a downlight, it still has plenty of light to provide luminance to a decent size area without the light still straying too far that it could distract neighbors which is really nice. Installation was as easy as can be and very straightforward. It comes with the mounting plate, extra mounting screws to attach to the electrical box, wire nuts (and not the dinky tiny ones but standard size ones), and obviously the light and the screws to attach the the fixture to the mounting plate. The metal is somewhat thin but to be expected at this price point. We have it installed on a south facing wall so it will get a lot of sun bleaching I expect this summer but will report back with how it holds up. Overall though I would recommend it and it's a great size for a patio door light. It'd probably be a bit too small for lights next to your garage doors though but that's more personal preference than anything. ... show more

You can use this well made, attractive sconce indoors and out. I am using it outdoors and it adds a nice vibe to the exterior. The design is ultra-simple but blends in with just about any decor. The light output is more than adequate for most purposes. If you are looking for a heavy duty security light this is not the one. The built-in led light is subtle rather than blaring so it makes it quite suitable for an atmospheric entry way. When I first saw this, I was really intrigued by the unusual design. Architectural in spirit, and rather tasteful and classy. The materials are good, and I’m glad it’s made from stainless steel since it’s designed for outdoor use. The feel of the sconce is definitely solid and heavy—no skimping on the metal. I also like the size. At about 15” by 6” it’s not huge like some of the more architectural style lanterns can be, so it can work in a smaller space such as on a modest covered back patio. The light is certainly a unique and modern design, and should stand up to the elements well. Installation is very easy, with a square plate on an outlet box the light base screws into. Light output is obviously going to be more downward than outward, and I would describe the output as medium, with a soft tone - so this is not an area light, more of a doorstep light. ... show more

I was surprisingly impressed with the quality of this light sconces, unfortunately I had to return it. Turned out it was a little small for my project, or maybe I just had a different vision because it’s not small in size by any means it’s actually a very nice size. The weight of this does not feel cheaply made. Feels like it would have survived many seasons. And the look is very unique and modern I would almost bet no one on your block or even your neighborhood would have this sconce. I would definitely highly recommend this product. ... show more

Love this light! It’s bright without being overly harsh. It was easy to install, there was an existing wall light box that made it easier to attach it to. It’s sturdy and gives the porch a classic look. The only drawback could be that the down light could make any wall imperfections stick out like a sore thumb, but could also highlight any features.
