First off I spent many hours researching fireplaces. This one won our because it was supposed to work with Alexa. It does not. Spent 3 hours on phone with Alexa support and even 3 way with Tuya support to be told by Tuya support device not support by Alexa. Built the framing and installed unit only to find out false advertising. Only positive is Alexa customer support person went above and beyond to help. **UPDATE 5/11/23** This fireplace now works with Alexa. I must’ve had a first generation, and they have finally figured out the errors. With the new updates works as advertised. Change star rating to 4 ... show more

We decided to go with the Aerus because the frame looks narrower than other smart models on Amazon. We really liked that look. Flames are very realistic and heater puts out plenty of heat to warm up the den quickly. The remote makes changing the flame or temperature literally just a touch of a button. It's gorgeous and it sure heats well. It's very well made and looks quite modern. It has a remote and it also has an app, which seems to work well. You can change the colors of the flames and also the bar light at the bottom. It has a timer so you can set it to heat for 30 minutes (or longer) and then shut off.
