  • Versatile and Fully Featured
Style: Mobvoi Treadmill SE Black
This is an incredibly versatile treadmill with a lot of awesome features. The ability for the treadmill to fold, and even be used while folded is key for this treadmill. I really underestimated how useful the feature could be. Not only does it make the device ultra portable, but it also makes it compact so it can be used in a ton of different places. Currently, I've got it in our office in front of a window. It's nice to fit the treadmill in such a confined space and still have a view! The arms rotate too. I didn't think much of this in the beginning, but folding them away was very useful in teaching my four year old daughter how to run on a treadmill. She looks like a champ on it. And that's part of the appeal; the smaller size of the device makes it very non-intimidating for someone who's not a professional marathon runner. Plus; I've now found myself and the kids walking on this in the evenings because it's accessible to the whole family in place we never expected to have a treadmill. We bought this as a supplement for a larger treadmill in the house. The wife and I often find ourselves in conflict over the fitness devices in the house, especially during the winter. This seemed like a great device to have in addition to our larger (and aging) Nordic Track. It's been a blessing, but I found my self moving it out of our typical workout space simply because I could! I definitely see this as being awesome for someone in a smaller living space too. I imagine it tucking underneath a bed. We keep it in the office and use it for both walking and running. I'm 6ft and don't have a huge stride, but the treadmill is just barely long enough for me. I got in a mile on it this morning too. The wife and I mainly train for fitness, but I'll admit she loves running 5Ks and 1/2 marathons... I run to support her. The kid and I use this treadmill. How does it work? First of all; having a remote for a treadmill is super cool. I use it some for myself during walking when the control bar is folding, but I've also used it a lot to help the kid learn to run. I would also see it very useful for the dog. Having the remote as a tool has unlocked new uses for the treadmill such as training the child to run for sports. The buttons are also very responsive. Comparatively, I often find myself wonder for a few moments if I've actually pressed the button on our larger treadmill or just attempted to press it. You *feel* the press of the control buttons every time on the Mobvoi's control panel. For all of its awesomeness... there are some tradeoffs. There are really only two control buttons for speed - everything else has to be adjusted into with + and - buttons. This isn't a huge deal since the controls are so responsive, but it's different if you're coming from another brand. It's also odd that you absolutely have to push the "start" button it start it; you cannot just press a speed button. Again, not a big deal, but it is a critique I have of it. Plus, with a curious kid in the house it seems like a bit of a safety feature. Lastly, the display is at the bottom by your feet. This placement gives the treadmill the its versatility, but it also then requires you to look at your feet for your current stats. I also haven't found a way to lock the display on to one stat at a time, so I have to wait for my distance or time as it also scrolls through calories. This is a trade-off for what you get out of the dynamic package though! Also in mitigation of all this - it has a smart watch app! I use my watch for tracking my runs anyhow (just as I do outside... I've never found a running display on the pavement). The integration with the rest of the Mobvoi ecosystem, like the Ticwatch, really helps this system shine. And I'm on my second Ticwatch because they are awesome tools (my son inherited my old one). I will mention it's height adjustable via leveling feet. My wife joked initially that she expected it to have a motor to lift it up and down, but it doesn't. This lack of a feature gives it one of its best strengths - it comparative light weight and portability. It's around 70lb, so my large posterior of a person can pick it up and move it around the house. And I caught my 40lb lifting it onto it's integrated wheel system and rolling it around the office like a baby stroller... Why would she do that you might ask? Because she saw me do it, and she's four. If you're space constrained or just want a treadmill that's super accessible and fully featured, then this is it. Mobvoi has built a fun treadmill that will fit in your office, your home gym, or under your bed. Features like the remote open new possibilities with home fitness in ways that you get to actually use your imagination - like training your child to run. I'm not sure I'll personally be doing a marathon at home on this, but that's not what this is for. I'm very satisfied with running deck and features of Mobvoi's accessible little machine. ... show more

  • perfect for hitting your target step count!
this thing is STURDY! it’s quite heavy and took some time to assemble by myself, but ultimately those handles are an incredible add on. I was a bit timid walking on my walking pad that didn’t have one - especially post an injury - and the handles really help me feel more comfortable. I don’t run on it, but for standard walking and getting your steps in, it fits the purpose and functionality just fine. I also love the stand so i can put my iPad on it and watch a show. The onlllly negative thing is the handles are a little low (im 5’8) and it would just be nicer if they were taller, but not a reason not to purchase. ... show more

  • This budget treadmill is at it’s best when walking not running; get 10,000 steps during meetings!
Style: Mobvoi Treadmill with Desk 6% Incline
Mobvoi Home Treadmill Ultra Review Can a $334.79 treadmill even be useful? Horizon wants $1000, Nordictrack wants $2000 and Peleton wants $5000. What can a $300 treadmill do? TLDR: This budget treadmill is at it’s best when walking not running due to the narrow hand rails and short belt. It’s compact size and quiet motor may allow it to fit into an office space for walking during meetings. If you have a Wear OS watch you may find some value in the automatic Mobvoi Treadmill app. Mobvoi should make a few design changes to make room for arms to swing without hitting hands on hand rails, allow quick folding for under bed storage and a proper laptop tray that doesn’t cover the display. Assembly: The treadmill was easy to assemble. You screw the feet on it, raise/assemble the control panel and that’s about it. Very Quiet: This is the quietest treadmill I have ever used. (I’ve owned a few treadmills and have used treadmills at Planet Fitness for the past 9 years.) I would say it is remarkably quiet and my family has said the same. Really you mostly just hear the sound of your shoes making contact with the belt. I will say that it is ironic then how loud the beeping of the control panel is. Each time you press a button on the control panel a loud beep is emitted. I would say that the beeping is actually louder than I need it to be and I am known for not having the best hearing. Light weight: I had no problems carrying the treadmill by myself around the house. (I am around 220 lbs, 6 feet tall, 50 years old and lift weights a few times/week.) Since this treadmill is on the small side it shouldn’t be surprising that it isn’t hard to carry it. Small size: This is easily the smallest treadmill I’ve ever seen. I was surprised by how small it was but intrigued to see if I could get some use out of it. Hand rails too narrow: My wife has said that she thinks the hand rails are too narrow and when she uses the treadmill she ends up hitting her hands on them. When I tried running on this machine it was impossible for me to not hit my hands on the hand rails. I could see myself chopping off the hand rails all the way up to the vertical riser or leave enough to hold on to. Very Short belt: When I am walking on the treadmill I am always conscious that the end of the treadmill is just behind my feet. This is not a treadmill for people who want to run with really long strides but I think it’s fine for walking on. Technically folding: The hand rails/control panel do technically fold down but maybe not with the ease one would imagine. You have to completely remove 2 screws to get the control panel to fold down. You then need to loosen 2 screws near the floor where the hand rails pivot. I really wish instead of screw hardware that hand knobs had been used and I may modify my machine to do just that. Sticky buttons: The buttons on the control panel are round rubber buttons that have a cheap feel to them. Worse it seems easy to me to get the buttons stuck in the depressed position where the rubber button cover gets pushed under the plastic on one side and then the button is stuck down. It is easy enough to get it unstuck by wiggling the button around until it pops back up but I feel like control buttons on a treadmill are kind of a safety feature and shouldn’t be ever getting stuck. If one button is stuck you can’t depress another button. Belt may need adjustment: My wife pointed out to me that when she walked on the treadmill the belt slipped a tiny bit pretty often. I did not notice any belt slipping when I did my first 10,000 steps on it. On a subsequent walk though I was trying to pay better attention to see if the belt did slip and I think it does a tiny bit from time to time. The treadmill owner’s manual says in the troubleshooting section that you are responsible to properly tension the belt so that it doesn’t slip, isn’t too tight and is evenly adjusted from left to right so that the belt is centered on the treadmill. Now that I look at my treadmill I can see the belt also isn’t centered so I need to make some adjustments. I have now centered and tightened the belt and it seems to stay mostly centered and doesn’t seem to be slipping any more. The owner’s manual mentions this in the troubleshooting section but I think it might be a good idea to say something about it in the set up section so people know they should pay attention to belt tension. Dog treadmill: You know what this treadmill might be good for? Small dogs who aren’t afraid to run on a treadmill. Maybe not really ‘run’ since the max speed is 7.6 mph and the average dog can run 15-20 mph. But I wonder if a dog might enjoy using this to get a little extra exercise? The treadmill owner’s manual: I was surprised that the manual says not to use the treadmill on carpet as this may reduce venting and cooling ability which may burn out the motor. I was also surprised it says to ‘Keep children away from this equipment to prevent accidents’. This treadmill is so small that it seems like it would be perfect for children who have such short legs. It also says to ‘reduce indoor dust’. Main power switch location: The main On/Off switch for the treadmill is near the floor where the power cable connects to the treadmill. This is likely a cost cutting design decision to keep the high power items near the motor in the base of the unit and not need to run larger/more expensive wiring up to the control panel. Considering the cost of the treadmill compared to larger/more expensive units it makes sense but from a user perspective I wish the power button was up on the control panel. It feels awkward to have to reach near the floor to turn the unit on and off. The manual says ‘After use, be sure to turn off the power of the treadmill’. So I guess you are not meant to leave it running. Use for walking/working: I work from home and spend way too many hours/day sitting. The description for this treadmill says ‘for Home Office’ so I wondered if I could actually use this treadmill to at least get some steps in everyday while working? I can easily walk on the treadmill at 2.8 mph while in meetings that I just need to speak with. To me this is the strength of a machine like this; it is small enough and quiet enough to fit in lots of places and not be so loud that you are bothering others. Display: The folding display that shows the digital readout is probably the simplest one you will ever see on a treadmill. There are no exercise programs with hills, various difficulty levels, bar graphs that show exercise intensity or upcoming program steps like what you would see on a Planet Fitness exercise machine. Again at this price point that is ok with me. However I feel the design could be much improved if the digital display was combined with the control buttons. There is so much space there and it would easily fit. Since it barely displays much useful info it doesn’t need a giant folding area like it has now. Tray Slot: The control tray has a large 10” x ½” slot that you can put your phone in. The back part of the slot is angled away from the runner so it angles your phone up towards you. There is a piece of foam down in the bottom of the slot as well which is nice to cushion your phone. This works well to hold my phone in either portrait or landscape orientations. Use for running (7.6 mph): I have an injured knee so I can’t really run for long periods. I got the machine up to 7 mph and it does get a little louder. I had my 15 year old son run on it and he does seem to stomp-run a little bit but I noticed a bit of flex to the machine as he plodded along. He definitely felt cramped running on such a short belt and was wishing the plastic housing the front was further away. App(s): A few apps (Zwift, Kinomap, Mobvoi Treadmill app, and Bluetooth) can be used with this treadmill. It seemed odd to list bluetooth here but it’s good to know how the treadmill communicates with a Wear OS watch. Integration with Mobvoi Pro 5 watch: I have a Mobvoi Pro 5 watch. When I checked my watch the treadmill app was already installed; probably because it is a Mobvoi watch. Once I launched the treadmill app on my watch it was very easy to set the app permissions and then pair the treadmill and watch. To me the app works surprisingly well. Each time I turn on the treadmill and launch the app on my watch it automatically connects and records exercise data. It seems to work very well from what I can see. One thing I’m noticing is that when other people run on the treadmill my watch starts auto recording the workout as if it is me. When the workout is done I can select the ‘Delete’ button and delete that workout but I wish there was a button to tell the app it’s not me and don’t bother showing me their workout info on my watch screen. You can ‘Unbind’ the treadmill and the watch won’t automatically connect to it but I think I will leave it connected. ... show more

  • Great treadmill!
Style: Mobvoi Treadmill with Desk 6% Incline
Our family has been looking for a treadmill for several months, and after some research came across this Mobvoi treadmill. After several weeks of use, it's be outstanding! It's not too big, perfect for our patio space. I was concerned the smaller (compared to the $1000+ options) running space might be too short and narrow and interfere with the running stride, but it doesn't. For the price, I've been more than happy - I only have two (minor) things I'd change if it were to be redesigned - the rubber buttons can stick if you don't push them straight down...nothing that really affects the use. The other thing is that the beeping when pushing the buttons is loud - and as far as I know, cannot be muted. For a $250 pricepoint, this is a great option if you don't want a full size treadmill or don't have the space. ... show more
