I am happy with my purchase, but let me address other reviews that almost made me not buy this k-cup brewer: 1) "Hard to fill up." This has nothing to do with this k-cup brewer. Try using your coffee mug as a precision water pouring device and you will be sorely disappointed. YES, water DOES go everywhere if you try and aim water out of a coffee mug. The reason is there is not a pouring lip on a coffee mug. Duh. Solution: we keep a Pyrex measuring cup next to the coffee mugs and PROBLEM SOLVED. Fills with water quickly and easily, with no spills. 2) Next, I feel like a lot of reviewers were disappointed with the amount of the coffee output. Ten ounces, the amount it brews, is slightly less than a soda can (12 ounces). Pour that amount of liquid in your coffee cup before you order your machine and see if that'll be enough coffee for you. I included a photo of a full brew in my mug so you can see. It was fine for us, but I can imagine many Starbucks grande and venti drinkers that would be disappointed. FYI--a Starbucks 'tall' (SMALL) is 12 OUNCES. 3) Bad taste. YES, ours smelled/tasted metallic straight out of the box. After reading all the reviews, when I received my brewer I ran 6 cycles of water through and then brewed the first k-cup. The coffee was bitter and undrinkable. I then read the instructions for "descaling" in the booklet. (Fill with white vinegar and hit start so that it starts brewing, but without a k-cup. When it starts to brew shut OFF the machine and let it sit for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, hit start again so the vinegar is pumped out of the machine. THEN run water through (still no k-cup) for 6-10 times. I did it until I didn't smell any vinegar). Worked like a charm. Coffee tastes great. If this helped you, please click the "Helpful" button. This coffee pot is inexpensive, small, easy to use and I haven't had any issues with it squirting water or anything. I checked based on bad reviews and the inside was clean when I opened it. Only negative (which I expected so I'm not mad at it) is that a standard size tervis tumbler coffee thermos doesn't fit under it. tall coffee cups won't fit under it. But, cool thing is my plastic microbrewer fits in it very well. Make sure when using the microbrewer to put the black piece in first that has "caution, sharp needles" warning in and lock it otherwise you'll get coffee grounds everywhere. Bought this little workhorse over 2.5 years ago and it's still going strong. We make at least three cups a day, every day, and this has been a hassle-free, easy to clean, and reliable coffee maker. I wanted something small for our limited counter space and this did the trick. It brews in less than three minutes. It could break tomorrow and I'd still call it a great purchase, considering what we demand of it day-in and day-out. I got this morning, a neighbor dropped it off to my front door. (It was misdelivered -- as typical, from Amazon's w/e delivery service here ...poorly trained drivers, very unprofessional. I'm ready to quit Amazon Prime because it just ain't what it used to be.) Anyhow the reviews citing bad chemical-plastic smell are all *TRUE*. Usually plastic, especially when heated, need to "out gas" loose molecular chemical bonds -- it often takes a day or two or three. This thing was very bad, worst I ever smelled. After running eight water cycles through it -- including one with pure white vinegar -- it still smelled to high heaven, like cheap crappy, probably unhealthy, nasty garbage-source inferior plastic crap. I tried one cup of mild Ethiopian coffee in it -- undrinkable. Tossed it after two sips! Not only nasty plastic but the coffee itself was very flat and tasteless. In another similar but better coffee maker I ran the same exact coffee, same amount of pure filtered water, same sweetener, same creamer, etc. viola, perfection! Don't buy this item. It's not fit for dogs. The coffee maker is made with inferior cheap plastic components. I thought it would be easier to use with the levered locking lid. But I'm returning back to my trusted hand twist lid, lock and load, coffee maker -- because its coffee tastes FAR better! This cheap piece of Chinese made junk isn't even worth returning to Amazon. It's going back in its box, and I'm leaving it in the community room here for someone else who has no sense of smell whatsoever. Sucker! Amazon is really not worth the bother anymore. There are other delivery services that supply better made products, make better deliveries, and implement better customer service. I hate Amazon! ... show more

The 1st one delivered, didn't work, had been used. I had ordered a new one. Sent it back. 2nd one arrived with Manuel, packing in box and very much new. I like it because it takes up less room on the counter and much faster than the bigger one. I'm single and very rarely need more than one cup of coffee. If you buy the refillable pods you can not put coffee in it and it will disperse just water and you can have a cup of hot chocolate or tea. Love it! ... show more
