Moves a decent amount of air even at the lowest speed. At that speed it sounds about like a moderately loud case fan in a computer. That makes sense since that's basically what it is. It appears to be a 40mm DC fan (30mm thick for good static pressure). The noise level is fine in the next room. You probably wouldn't want it in a living space with you. On high, it sounds more like a hair dryer and moves a LOT of air for a 40mm fan! If you're thinking about connecting it to PVC pipe, it fits nearly perfectly in a 1.5" rubber coupling. ... show more

    • Not 2”, can’t use PVC fittings.

The dimensions are false. Definitely not 2”! I could not find any PVC fittings that would attach to it, had to grind out a 1.5” coupling to use it. Another customer suggested using a rubber coupling, wish I had seen that sooner. It dos move some decent air though for its size.

This is just a $2 computer fan in a housing with a rheostat for RPM control. It's noisy. I would not buy this again, particularly for $40, I would just get a quiet computer fan and retrofit it to my application.
