When I first received this banjo, there was a rattling noise. At first I thought it was the strap attachments. Three weeks later it stopped rattling and I found a small nut on the floor. It was one of the J-hook nuts. I took the resonator off to put thenut back on. All of the nuts were loose - 1-2 turns to tighten them, but not over tighten. One of the nuts took 5 turns to tighten. On the bright side it did give me a lesson on maintenance! Also, the tuner that came with it is not intuitive or easy for a beginner to use. I found an app called GuitarTuna that works so much better. Overall though, this is a really good, low cost banjo for someone just starting off.

Very nice instrument. I removed the resonator (the back piece) to see what's what and was surprised to see the bolts holding the resonator to the body were secured with staples. One was loose so I straightened them bent staple ends, added some Elmer's glue, and hammered that sucker in. Seemed fine so I closed it up and am very happy with i this -- my first and only banjo.

Arrived on time in perfect condition. Sounds great. Easy to set up. Easy to play. I play the violin and this is as pleasing to listen to as my $600 violin. New to the banjo and I couldn't be happier with my purchase! Thank you!

Seemed like a nice product, and I liked the design, but when I opened it up, I noticed that one of the screws that connects the resonator to the belly was damaged and missing the cap. Sadly in the process of returning it, and most likely going to just go to a local music shop and buy one there instead to save me the time of having to wait for replacement.
