Been playing guitar for over 30yrs. I started playing ukulele about a year ago. I discovered this gem a few weeks ago. I guess I was missing 6 string sound. Yet, since I'm getting older. It's getting harder with my hands. But this gem is a pleasure to play. I was concerned about the flaws, but was pleasantly surprised about the quality. I've gone over this instrument several times and only found (maybe) one minor dark blemish on the side. Very happy with this ukulele!!! ... show more

    • Better than expected
I took a chance on a "minor imperfections" ukulele because it was listed at almost half of what I've seen it for elsewhere... and I figured if it was broken or otherwise unplayable, I could return it. Turns out that such measures weren't necessary. It arrived in almost perfect new condition, with one little mark well identified, and another small finish scuff that I had to look for. Otherwise, it's in great, new condition for less than half of a pristine edition. Because it won't be on display but actually PLAYED, it'll get more marks on it over time, and I won't freak out over it. Fifty bucks!!! It's a no brainer purchase, and it sounds just fine as a laminated instrument. The grain looks perhaps more like varied mahogany than acacia, but it's real wood, and I love mahogany anyway. It's a very pretty ukulele, and it works. Action is nice, not high, but enough above the frets that it doesn't mute or buzz. Highly recommended. ... show more

Decent value... could not id the defect... plays well. i like their zebrawood better for same price: it has closed tuners, laminated wood is heavier, softer sound, and glossy finish. Uke i received did not have open headstock shown in picture, but ad stated it may differ.
